The design architects of a brand new hotel complex in the Cayman Islands have been revealed as TEN Arquitectos.

The $250 million mixed-use resort at St James Point on Grand Cayman is being developed by Beach Bay Land Limited and will sit on 16 beachfront acres.

Scheduled to open in autumn 2018, the complex will have a hotel with 200 guest rooms and 90 residential units and a private 1,000-foot beach, and will feature some of the most unique design elements ever seen in a resort complex.

"It is a great pleasure to announce this collaboration with TEN Arquitectos, a firm who so clearly understood our vision for creating a Caribbean icon that is sensiative to the existing tropical environment, integrates the architecture as art and in harmony with nature, while offering the highest standard of luxury accommodation."

Stated John Layton, the Principal and Managing Director of Beach Bay Land Limited. The development will have numerous world-class branded companies through its restaurants, shops, spas and watersports activities.

TEN Arquitectos will work alongside Andrew Gibb, a local Cayman architect to design the luxury resort. Enrique Norten from TEN explained:

"Providing more integrated environments for living and travel, without their losing connection to nature or sense of place, is key to the success of a project like this. We have a unique concept here that will fit harmoniously within the landscape."

The Cayman Islands is a country made up of three main islands located in the west Caribbean Sea, south of Cuba: Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.

The island nation is a British Overseas territory and one of the Caribbean's most popular scuba diving destinations due to its tropical climate, idyllic natural surroundings, luxurious beachfront accommodation, and thriving marine parks.

Holidaymakers can unwind on pristine white sand beaches including the famous Seven Mile Beach, and enjoy excellent conditions for scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing, and kayaking activities in warm, turquoise sea waters.
