Macau launches hop on hop off bus tour

Macau has announced the launch of two hop-on hop-off circular bus tours. The hop-on, hop-off bus tour format which originated in the UK is widely recognized as one of the easiest and most efficient ways to explore the key attractions in any given city.

The service, which been branded "Step Out, Experience Macau's Communities Bus Highlight Tour", and will be operated by Grayline Tours (Macau). The bus tour will act as a complimentary service to the already established "Step Out, Experience Macau's Communities - Walking tour" service. Together these services ensure that holidaymakers can make the most of their holidays in Macau.

The bus tour will cover two circular routes: the Peninsula Line and the Taipa and Coloane Line. A tour on the Peninsula Line lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes (excluding stops) and starts at the Macau Ferry Terminal with the first trip departing at 10:30 am. Among the key attractions to be seen on this line is the Pousada de Sao Tiago boutique hotel nestled within the ruins of an ancient fort.

This tour connects to six walking tour routes such as Crossroads of China and Portugal and the Historic Centre walking tour that allows passengers to experience the Macao Science Centre, the Cultural Centre and the Museum of Art. There is ample time for guests to hop off and experience each site with the Peninsula line operating 7 trips per day.

Similar to the Peninsula line, the Taipa and Coloane line starts at the Macau Ferry Terminal and lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes (excluding stops). This tour allows passengers to visit Largo do President Antonio Ramalho Eanes and Rua do Cunha. The Taipa and Colane line connects to two walking tours; The Bygone Days of Taipa Village tour and The Nostalgia in Coloane walking tour both of which visit Chinese temples as well as Catholic chapels and churches among other key historical and cultural sites.

A day pass for either of the tour bus lines cost 100 patacas for adults, 50 patacas for children aged 12 or under and seniors aged 65 and above. The cost includes access to the walking tours. Customers can enjoy free wifi on the buses and commentary about the sights in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
