LEGO fans of all ages will be pleased to learn that the LEGOLAND Florida theme park in the Winter Haven area is now a complete resort destination with the recent launch of the LEGOLAND Hotel just a few short steps away from the entrance to the theme park.

As part of a stay at the hotel, guests will also be able to enjoy a full buffet breakfast at the Bricks Family Restaurant, early admission to the theme park and even have access to Master Model Builder Sessions.

As the name would suggest, the five-story, 152 room hotel is entirely LEGO themed and is packed with interactive features including a giant castle and pirate ship filled with the LEGO bricks in the lobby.

Reportedly more than two million LEGO bricks were used to create the 2000 plus models scattered across the hotel. In addition to the decor, the themed hotel rooms make this the ideal place for family holidays. Each room has a treasure hunt, leading to a treasure chest bursting with bricks which guests are allowed to take home with them.

Adrian Jones, the general manager of the resort had this to say at the hotel's official opening:

"It's the first real child-friendly hotel- in my opinion- in Central Florida. The LEGOLAND Hotel is the ultimate LEGO experience- you're basically immersed in a big box of LEGO."

Florida Governor Rick Scott was also present at the hotel's grand opening and highlighted the impact that the addition of the hotel would have on Winter Haven area with the resort expected to entice even more travellers to book their family holidays in Florida, Governor Scott explained:

"Not only will this hotel encourage many more families to visit Florida, but it is also creating 150 new jobs for families in the Winter Haven area."

Florida, often referred to as the Sunshine State, is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the US, particularly for families, thanks in large part to the sunny climate and theme parks like LEGOLAND, Universal Studios and a range of Disney parks including the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot and Animal Kingdom. In Q1 2015, Florida's tourism industry welcomed a record high of 28.4 million holidaymakers representing a quarter on quarter growth of 6.2 per cent.
