Dubai Training Day at The Holiday Place
The Holiday Place recently hosted an intensive training session on Dubai where several hoteliers and representatives from the Arab nation's tourism sector imparted their product knowledge on the company's team of travel experts. Dubai Training Day was marked by lively and fun training followed by refreshments and a fantastic prize draw.
A few days ago, various representatives from different hotel chains in Dubai as well as a representative from Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce came to The Holiday Place for a special five-hour intensive training session with prizes at the end following refreshments and a quiz for all participating employees.
The event started at 3 p.m. and saw various groups of two to three employees from The Holiday Place going from table to table to attend insightful presentations from each supplier and absorb as much knowledge as possible within 15-minute slots. After the time was up they moved on to the next hotelier or tourist board representative and so on until 6 p.m. when it was time for a break, some snacks and refreshments.
All trainee participants were invited to stay over after 6 p.m. to enjoy the nibbles and then take part in a series of quizzes (one per supplier) and be in with the chance of scooping up some amazing prizes that included: gift vouchers, goody bags and a two-night stay for two people at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina.
After tallying up scores and announcing the winners the event concluded at 8 p.m. and left a much better-prepared team of travel experts at The Holiday Place.
Sophie Burkwood, which represented Sofitel Hotels said of the day:
"On behalf of Sofitel Luxury Hotels in Dubai we would like to send a big thank you to tour operator The Holiday Place. Thanks for arranging a fun, interactive, educational Dubai training evening. It was a great way to meet all your staff and update them on Sofitel's recent openings to help them better recommend our hotels to the end clients."
On a similar note, Anthony Vale , International Accoun Director – UK and Ireland for Movenpick Hotels and Resorts, commented:
"It was a pleasure to be part of the Dubai training day at The Holiday Place. It was encouraging to meet so many of the sales guys who had a genuine interest in the destination and various hotel products available. I thought the quiz concept worked really well in engaging with the team and offered a competitive and fun end to the proceedings."
Also commenting on the day at The Holiday Place, Catherine Lamri, Marketing Executive from the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing at Government of Dubai said:
"This was a fun afternoon of training which gave me a fantastic chance to meet all the team and update them on Dubai. Congratulations again to all the quiz winners and I look forward to seeing you all again soon!"
On a last note, the representative from Emirates on the day, Sales Executive, Rashid Nazir, expressed:
"It was really a nice event and a great way of training staff. I'm sure they all enjoyed the evening and found these training sessions very informative and edifying."
Dubai is an up-and-coming destination that's been rapidly growing in popularity over the last few years and The Holiday Place has been a great promoter of Dubai's many qualities, values and unique attractions. In fact, we believe Dubai to be an ideal destination for twin-centre breaks to the Indian Ocean, offering the perfect combination of city luxury and glamour with the slower-paced beach resorts that the Indian Ocean is famous for. And with such excellent flight connections, Dubai is more than idyllic for a stopover.
