Alila Jabal Akhdar Hotel brings top boutique hotel chain to Oman

Omran, the tourism development company of Oman recently handed over the Jabal Akhdar Hotel to the Singapore based hotel group Alila Hotels and Resorts. This is a major milestone for the group given that is Alila's first entry into the Middle Eastern market. Alila is known as one of the leading luxury hotel groups in the world and the Alila Jabal Akhdar hotel is set to be one of its most spectacular properties.

In what is undoubtedly a key milestone in its international growth strategy, the Alila Hotels and Resorts Group has recently closed a deal with the Oman's tourism development company Omran which brings Alila one step closer to launching its very first Middle East hotel.

Omran has officially handed over the Jabal Akhdar Hotel the Singapore based hotel group and according to report the resort will be launched in Q2 2014. At the time of the hand over Omram ceo Wael Al Lawati stated:

"The handover of this landmark project is yet another milestone for the growth of tourism in the Sultanate and we look forward to working with Alila Hotels and Resorts to ensure its success. Like Omran, Alila also shares a strong vision for sustainable tourism, making them the ideal partners to take over the management of the project".

The Alila Jabal Akhdar Hotel will be branded under the umbrella of the hotel group's Lifestyle Collection. Nestled atop breathtaking Hajar Mountains in Oman, 200 meters above sea level the property comprises 84 suites and two luxury Jabal villas, on site amenities include a restaurant and bar, outdoor and indoor swimming pools as well as a pampering a Spa making this the ultimate getaway and a truly spectacular property for Alila's first foray into the Middle Eastern market.

As part of its commitment to an eco friendly sustainable development, both the interior and exterior of the hotel is said to have designed primarily with locally sourced raw materials. The design of the resort was heavily influenced by traditional Omani culture and as a result the hotel was recently named the "Best Project Design" at the 2013 Dossier Construction Awards and Summit held in Oman last month.

The entry of Alila into the Oman hotels landscape is a major achievement for the country with Alila bringing to the table its reputation as one of the world's leading hotel groups. Alila has previously been voted as the "Cooled Hotel Chain" in 2011 and was also the named among the "Top 40 Global Luxury Brands" in 2012. Holidaymakers planning to visit Oman can only stand to benefit from this latest partnership between Alila and Omran.
