Danat Al Ain Resort scheduled to open in january 2011
Travellers planning their 2011 Abu Dhabi holidays will be able to enjoy luxurious accommodation in one of the city's largest resorts as the Danat Al Ain Resort is expected to open its doors in early January.
The Chairman of National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels (NCTandH), Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, has announced that the Danat Al Ain Resort will is scheduled to open to tourists on Abu Dhabi holidays in early January 2011.
The new property will be one of the Corporation's largest luxury hotels in Abu Dhabi and will feature a lush garden oasis and luxurious accommodation and facilities for its guests.
Shaikh Hamdan said: "The NCTandH will completely develop and modernise the luxury resort as a family and business tourism destination to cater for the phenomenal growth in the tourism sector in Al Ain."
He explained that wise leadership from President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has led to an increase in tourists enjoying Abu Dhabi holidays, the renaissance of cultural events, the development of several new Abu Dhabi hotels.
"The NCTandH is committed to keep abreast of this progress and is striving to diversify its tourist investment portfolio in Al Ain in order to deliver world class services to stimulate family, resorts and ecological tourism," he added.
The Danat Al Ain Resort, formerly Danat Intercontinental Al Ain, is one of six luxury properties owned and managed by Danat Hotels and Resorts.
Shaikh Hamdam is optimistic about the future of Abu Dhabi tourism as new marketing plans and the introduction of additional flights from Etihad Airways are planned for 2011.
He concluded: "Al Ain is home to history and a cultural and social legacy of the Al Nahyan ruling family which is perpetuated by the great Al Jahili Fort, the then seat of government in the Eastern Region.
"Apart from being the home city of fathers and forefathers, Al Ain today is a venue of cultural, musical and artistic festivals and home to universities and colleges and signature historic sites, making it a favourite tourist destination not only in the UAE but also in the Gulf and Arab region."
