Blau Colonial: favourite hotel for holidays in Cayo Coco

Over the last 17 years, travellers have been enjoying Cayo Coco holidays at the Blau Colonial Cayo Coco hotel in the "King's Gardens" in Cuba; a favourite for tourists from all over the world.

The establishment stands out from other Cayo Coco hotels because of its Spanish-colonial architectural style, luxurious accommodation and dedicated service.

Situated in eastern Cuba, the luxury all inclusive resort was established in 1983 and is owned by the Cubanacan hotel group and operated by the Spanish chain, Blau Hotels.

The hotel has reported occupancy rates of over 90 percent and has become increasing popular with travellers enjoying Cayo Coco holidays since it reopened in 2005 as a five-star property after undergoing extensive refurbishments and upgrades.

The hotel Blau Colonial offers 458 air-conditioned rooms including luxurious suites which feature a private Jacuzzi in the private bathrooms, a separate living area, dressing gown and slippers, satellite TV, a mini-bar which is restocked on a daily basis, a coffee maker and an in-room safety deposit box.

Guests can taste local Cuban and international dishes in a choice of restaurants including the gourmet thatched-roof restaurant which is located on the soft sandy beach offering views overlooking the azure waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Families enjoying Cuba holidays can leave their children at the hotel's Blaudi Club, where members of staff are on hand to entertain kids and teenagers with a range of activities from the age of two years old up to 17 years old.

Guests can take part in endless activities including tennis, beach volleyball sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, catamaran cruises, cycling, French Bowling, table tennis, aerobic gymnastics, introductory scuba diving lessons, and swimming.

The hotel offers craft workshops, Spanish classes, folkloric shows with a dance hall and band, and Caribbean, Salsa and other Cuban rythums dance classes.

Blau Colonial Hotel is located just 12 kilometres away from Jardines del Rey International Airport, 40 minutes from Moron city, and one hour from Ciego de Avila.

The beautiful surroundings include 15 miles of pristine beaches and the world's second largest coral reef, after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, offering plenty of opportunities to head into the warm waters for a spot of snorkelling or scuba diving.
