The Guardian highlights Nour el Nil as Top Nile Cruise

Travellers can enjoy Egypt holidays with a difference as they take a trip with one of the best Nile cruise providers according to and The Guardian.

Nour el Nil offers travellers a unique experience and the same level of deluxe accommodation which is often found within Egypt luxury hotels.

Guests can enjoy a six day Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan where they will experience some of Egypt's famous scenery and historic sites along the way.

Each of the company's four magnificent sailboats feature 8-10 cabins and a team of friendly crew and hosts to guide you during the journey.

Travellers can relax on the deck which is furnished with embroidered cushions, sofas, and seven illuminating chandeliers, and feel the breeze on their faces as the prevailing wind carries them down the river.

The small size of the non-motorised dahabiyyas enables the crew to reach areas along the river which cruise ships cannot access, allowing visitors to explore uncrowded sites and attractions.

Activities during the Nile cruise can include drinking tea with local farmers, visiting the Temple of Horus at Edfu, riding a donkey, swimming in the Nile, shopping in local town markets, walking through a Pharaonic quarry, singing with the crew, and absorbing the delights along the famous Egyptian river.

The luxurious rooms run alongside the outside of the boat so all guests have river views on their Nile cruise. The rooms are under three categories - standard, luxury and panoramic – and feature comfortable beds, crisp white linen, shiny wooden floors, cupboards, under-bed drawers, colourful scatter cushions and en-suite showers.

Travellers can enjoy a Nile cruise throughout most of the year but recommended times are between September and May when the temperatures are cooler.

Rates for the six-day Nile cruise start from €1,100 per person based on a shared cabin and include all meals, accommodation, activities, internet access and airport transfers.

The four other top Egypt hotels and resorts listed by and The Guardian included Le Riad in Cairo, Siwa Villa in Siwa, Dahab Paradise in Dahab, and Al Moudira Hotel in Luxor.
