As well as this exceptional opportunity, at the Semonggoh Wildlife Rehab Centre you can marvel at the ethno-botanical garden wonders. During your incredible journey you’ll be able to experience the scenic countryside and authentically functioning towns, villages and paddy fields. During the Kuching City & River Tour that you’ll take part in, you’ll experience the perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, visiting the colourful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple and the famous Sarawak Museum. Discover truly impressive biodiversity at the Bako National Park, with insights into the charming wildlife. DAY 01 KUCHING – Arrival
Upon arrival at Kuching Airport by TBA flight, meet & greet, transfer to the hotel, check-in, rest & relax.

DAY 02 KUCHING / BATANG AI [B/L/D]
 After breakfast, check-out from hotel and proceed to Semonggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre

Highlights:
The best place in Sarawak to view semi-wild orangutans, who have been rescued from captivity and trained to survive in the surrounding forest reserve. The rehabilitated animals roam freely around the rain forest, and often return to the centre at feeding time. Thanks to the successful breeding programme at Semonggok there is a good possibility of experiencing one of the most heart-warming sights in Borneo – an orangutan mother with a young baby. The centre is 30 minute drive from Kuching and a further 20 mins on foot. Along the way, visitors pass by the ethno-botanical gardens, with their unique collection of rainforest plants. Semengok also has a number of short collection of rain-forest plants. (Note: As the orangutan in Semengok are semi-wild, sightings cannot be guaranteed)

Onwards, continue journey for Deluxe Batang Ai Tour (3 days 2 nights).

The journey by road to Aiman Batang Ai Resort & Retreat, 166 miles from Kuching City, passing through scenic countryside consisting of quaint little towns, villages, paddy fields, pepper and oil palm plantations interspersed with secondary and virgin jungle as the road starts to wind and undulate as you go deeper into the interior. Stop for lunch at Lachau, a small town on the way to the resort.  Arrive at the Hydro Lake at Lubok Antu. Board a shuttle ferry for the resort situated on the southern bank.

Check-in resort, rest & relax. Dinner is served at resort.

Overnight at Aiman Batang Ai Resort & Retreat

DAY 03  BATANG AI [B/L/D]
Breakfast is served at resort.

Depart for Longhouse by motorized native longboat.  The journey will take you across the lake into the Engkari River, one of the many tributaries flowing into the lake. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes before reaching the Longhouse nestled on a hill beside the river. Enjoy a short cultural performance by the inhabitant of the longhouse followed later on by a blow pipe demonstration. Lunch will be provided. After lunch free at Leisure until your return back to the Resort via the same route. 

• As an added token of appreciation to the longhouse villagers, guests will be asked by their guides if they wish to buy some gifts for each of the families at the longhouse. Please note that this gesture is not compulsory and guest may choose not to do so.

Dinner is served at resort.

Overnight at Aiman Batang Ai Resort & Retreat

DAY 04  BATANG AI / KUCHING [B/L]
Breakfast is served at the resort.
Check-out and return to Kuching, local lunch will be provided en-route.

Upon arrival, proceed for Kuching City & River Tour (approx. 4 hours)

Highlights:
The perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, this tour includes Kuching’s Chinatown, the Cat Statue (Kuching means “Cat” in Malay), the colourful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple, the Civic Centre Viewing Platform and the world famous Sarawak Museum.    Return via the golden-domed City Mosque and passing through Old Kuching, crammed with spice dealers and textile shops.   Pass by the heritage buildings of the White Rajah era, the Pavilion, the Square Tower, the Court House, the Charles Brooke Monument and the Post Office. We will view the Astana, the former residence of the White Rajahs from across the river at the Kuching Waterfront. Included in this tour will be a 1-hour pontoon boat river cruise viewing the city from the river.

DAY 05 KUCHING [B/L]

0900hrs, pick up from hotel and proceed for Bako National Park (approx. 8 hours)

Highlights:
This small peninsula, 1 ½ hours from Kuching by car and longboat, is home to seven distinct rainforest ecosystems, giving it a remarkable diversity of animal and plant life. Bako’s most famous residents are the bizarre proboscis monkeys, and it is also home to silvered langurs (leaf monkeys), long-tailed macaque monkeys, wild boar, flying squirrels and monitor lizards as well as hundreds of different bird species. Fascinating plant life includes mangroves, strangling figs, carnivorous pitcher plants and symbiotic ant plants. Unique geological features mark the coastline, whilst well-marked trails lead to rugged jungle-covered hilltops and secluded beaches.

DAY 06 KUCHING / MULU [B/D]

Check-out from hotel and transfer to Kuching Airport for your departure flight to Mulu.

Meet upon arrival at Mulu Airport, transfer to check-in hotel, rest & relax.

At 1330hrs, meet at resort to be transferred to the Park Headquarters where the guide will lead you to a 3km hike through Mulu’s amazing tropical rainforests.  Discover Lang Cave and its beautiful formation and walk through the Second World’s largest cave entrance: the Massive Deer cave. Relax at the open-air observatory for an opportunity to witness the phenomenon exodus of bats flying out of the cases, spiraling high overhead and ascend to the sky in search of food.  At 1900hrs, hike back to Park Headquarters then transfer back to resort for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 07  MULU [B/L/D]
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
At 0830hrs, meet at the resort where the guide will lead you to a long boat ride through the winding rivers to a tribal “Penan” settlement. Continue up river to the enchanting Wind and Clearwater Caves of Mulu. The Wind Cave is famous for the naturally “sculpted” column & pillars of the King’s Chamber.  While the Clearwater Caves is formed by waters of the 118km long cave system. You may take a swim at the refreshing Clearwater.  The highlight is a must see which is the Rajah Brooke butterflies hovering around the river and entrance of the caves.  A most unique sighting of nature well protected and conserved.

Return to the resort by boat, free at leisure to enjoy the facilities available at the resort. Dinner is served at the hotel.

DAY 08 MULU / KUCHING [B]
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
Check-out from hotel and transfer to Mulu Airport for your departure flight to onwards destination via Kuching.
