Valencia Hostal

3 stars

Named after the Spanish city after which it took inspiration, the Hostal Valencia is one of Old Havana's prettiest hotels, with its Moorish arches, large open spaces and breezy central patio overflowing with plants and flowers. Originallly built as the private house of Alderman Sotolongo, a past member of Havana's Town Council, this beautiful property boasts original 18th century features with a distinct 17th century atmosphere. Admire the fine iron work of its balconies, the lovely balaustrades, the terracotta-tiled staircase and the thick mahogany beams that line the ceilings - it all adds to the colonial experience.

  • Former mansion built in the 18th century This atmospheric hotel is perfectly located in Old havana, just 200 metres from Plaza de armas and a few steps from the minor basilica de st Frances. The hotel is full of colonial character.
  • Just 12 rooms, all different in character and size Guest rooms are named after Spanish cities and differ in size and style. All have fans, colour TV and refrigerator and come with private facilities.
  • La Casa del Tabaco and music from the 50s The hotel boasts the best cigars in Cuba which can be purchased in La casa del Tabaco on the 1st floor. Guests can also enjoy the best music from the 50s in the nostalgia bar on the lobby.
