Holidays in Danang

Beautiful beaches, modern hotels, local hospitality and a vibrant nightlife all combine to make Danang an enjoyable – and increasingly popular – holiday destination. Located on Vietnam’s Eastern Sea coast – about halfway between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi – this is the largest city of central Vietnam but offers a welcome respite from the fast pace and bustle of other cities. Danang is the place to come to recharge your batteries, to soak up some rays and to enjoy the fabulous local beauty and friendliness of this city.

While Danang may not be as jam-packed with historical attractions as some other Vietnamese cities, there’s certainly still plenty to entertain visitors hungry for a little local heritage and culture. Highlights include the Cham Museum, which houses some fascinating ancient sandstone sculptures, including Hindu icons.

Danang is certainly a place of pilgrimage for beach lovers, as it is home to some of the most picturesque and tranquil beaches in the whole of Vietnam. The relaxing ambience of the beach spreads right across the city, and many visitors enjoy simply strolling through the old town and soaking up the atmosphere.

Don’t miss a visit to Dragon Bridge over the Han River, which incorporates an ornate metal dragon which is colourfully illuminated in the evenings. On Sunday nights crowds gather to watch the dragon blow fire and water, creating a magical display.

If you enjoy coffee you will feel right at home in Danang. There are numerous coffee shops to choose from – from the luxurious to the specialist – each producing the distinctive and enticing aroma of the authentic Vietnamese national drink. Coffee drinking here is one of the most popular pastimes - for visitors and locals alike.

Danang is also a haven for food lovers, with plenty of street food and restaurants to choose from. To really make the most of the city’s culinary treats, you can join a local food tour, or visit Fisherman Village and Son Tra peninsula for some amazing seafood. For the ultimate foodie experience, Danang Home Cooking Class offers the chance to experience cooking from an authentically local perspective.
