Tourist Arrivals in Mauritius increase in first quarter of 2016

The idyllic island nation of Mauritius has recorded an increase of British holidaymakers in the first quarter of 2016. The country received a total of 327,836 international tourists, and an 8.5 per cent increase in British travellers. More than 1.2 million tourists are expected to visit in Mauritius in 2016 to soak up the sunshine and relax on its powder-soft beaches.

First Golfer's Choice Awards rank Anahita as Best Golf Course in Mauritius

The Anahita Golf Course has been voted as the No.1 Golf Course in Mauritius in 2015 by members of Leadingcourses.com. The golf course review site is used by golf players who rank courses all around the world. Managed by Four Seasons, the 18-hole par 72 golf course at Anahita was designed by Ernie Els & Bernhard Lange and has six oceanfront holes, making it one of the most spectacular courses in the world.

Constance Le Prince Maurice Mauritius receives Green Globe certification

Constance Le Prince Maurice Mauritius has been recertified by Green Globe after it scored 80 per cent in its recent evaluation. The luxury hotel in Mauritius is one of six Constance Hotels and Resorts, and last year it implemented several environmental initiative including tree planting activities, recycling programmes, and the clean-up of abandoned land in Poste de Flacq.

RIU Hotels to open three new all inclusive hotels in Mauritius

RIU Hotels and Resorts will be adding Mauritius to its portfolio when it opens three new hotels that will make up an RIU resort. Located on the Le Morne peninsula, the Riu Le Morne (Adults Only by RIU), Riu Creole and Riu Coral hotels will be all-inclusive following multi-million dollar refurbishments and upgrades.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts to add Mauritius resort to luxury portfolio

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has announced that it will open the Shangri-La's Le Touessrok Resort and Spa in Mauritius in November. The brand will commence management of the luxury resort on 15th April, 2015 but it is inviting holidaymakers to book their stays from 30th March for stays from 1st November.

Salt of Palmar to debut in Mauritius in November as part of Lux Collective's new Salt Brand

A new sister brand will join Lux Resorts and Tamassa in Mauritius in November 2018. The first Salt Resorts property, part of the new Lux Collective, will open on the east coast of the island. The Salt of Palmar resort will have 59 guest rooms and will take over the building which was originally designed by Mauritian architect Maurice Giraud in 2005.

SALT resort brand set to launch in Mauritius with Salt of Palmar

A new boutique hotel brand aimed at connecting travellers with local communities and giving resorts a true sense of place will launch on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius on 1 November 2018. The luxury SALT de Palmar resort will feature 59 beach-front rooms arranged around a Mauritian-style village with organic locally-sourced food, its own farm, spa and wellness pursuits such as yoga.

Mauritius' Tourism Industry Records Successful Year in 2017

Tourism in Mauritius celebrated another record-breaking year in 2017, according to data from the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority. Last year, the island recorded more than 1.34 million tourists, and hotel occupancy was up by 9.3 per cent increase compared to 2016. The thriving tourism industry has been helped by increased air traffic to the nation, and the refurbishment of hotels.
