Get ready to discover the varying spectacular facets of Malaysia with this fully comprehensive tour, taking you from Borneo Kuching to Kota Kinabulu. You’re given the unique opportunity to take park in a number of incredible activities and see amazing attractions. Your journey will begin with a trip to the Semonggoh Wildlife Rehab Centre where you’ll be given an insight into the extraordinary lives of precious semi-wild orangutans. You might even have the chance to see them up close and personal as they often retreat back to the centre for feeding time. As well as exploring amongst these precious creature’s presence, you’ll also get the opportunity to marvel at the verdant rainforest plants that surround you at the Rehab Centre. Next, you’ll go on the Deluxe Batang Ai Tour where you will travel through the authentically scenic countryside – full of little quaint towns, villages, paddy fields and pepper and oil plantations. During the Kuching City & River Tour that you’ll take part in after, you’ll experience the perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, visiting the colourful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple and the famous Sarawak Museum. Discover truly impressive biodiversity at the Bako National Park, with insights into the charming wildlife. Proboscis monkeys, silvered langurs, long-tailed macaques, wild boar and much more inhabit this spectacular gem of protected nature. A visit to Mulu’s tropical rainforests is also on the cards, as well as exposure to the authentic ‘Penan’ settlement along the way. On top of all of this you’ll visit the Second World’s largest cave entrance: the Massive Deer Cave; bask along treetop canopy walkways and visit the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu. If you want to explore Malaysia in all its glory then this tour is perfect for you!

DAY 01 KUCHING – Arrival

Upon arrival at Kuching Airport by flight, meet & greet, transfer to the hotel, check-in, rest & relax.

DAY 02 KUCHING / BATANG AI [B/L/D]


After breakfast, check-out from hotel and proceed to Semonggoh Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre

Highlights:
The best place in Sarawak to view semi-wild orangutans, who have been rescued from captivity and trained to survive in the surrounding forest reserve. The rehabilitated animals roam freely in the rain forest, and often return to the centre at feeding time. Thanks to the successful breeding programme at Semonggok there is a good possibility of experiencing one of the most heart-warming sights in Borneo – an orangutan mother with a young baby. The centre is 30 mins drive from Kuching and another 20 mins on foot. Along the way visitors pass by the ethno-botanical gardens, with their unique collection of rainforest plants. Semengok also has a number of short collection of rain-forest plants.

Onwards, continue journey for Deluxe Batang Ai Tour (3 days 2 nights).

The journey by road to Aiman Batang Ai Resort & Retreat, 166 miles from Kuching City, passing through scenic countryside consisting of quaint little towns, villages, paddy fields, pepper and oil palm plantations interspersed with secondary and virgin jungle as the road starts to wind and undulate as you go deeper into the interior. Stop for lunch at Lachau, a small town on the way to the resort.  Arrive at the Hydro Lake at Lubok Antu. Board a shuttle ferry for the resort situated on the southern bank. Check-in resort, rest & relax. Dinner is served at resort.

DAY 03 BATANG AI [B/L/D]

Breakfast is served at resort. Depart for Longhouse by motorized native longboat. The journey will take you across the lake into the Engkari River, one of the many tributaries flowing into the lake. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes before reaching the Longhouse nestled on a hill beside the river. Enjoy a short cultural performance by the inhabitant of the longhouse followed later on by a blow pipe demonstration. Lunch will be provided. After lunch free at Leisure until your return back to the Resort via the same route. Dinner is served at resort.

DAY 04 BATANG AI / KUCHING [B/L]

Breakfast is served at the resort. Check-out and return to Kuching, local lunch will be provided en-route. Upon arrival in Kuching, proceed for Kuching City & River Tour (approx. 4 hours)

Highlights:
The perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, this tour includes Kuching’s Chinatown, the Cat Statue (Kuching means “Cat” in Malay), the colourful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple, the Civic Centre Viewing Platform and the world famous Sarawak Museum.    Return via the golden-domed City Mosque and passing through Old Kuching, crammed with spice dealers and textile shops.   Pass by the heritage buildings of the White Rajah era, the Pavilion, the Square Tower, the Court House, the Charles Brooke Monument and the Post Office. We will view the Astana, the former residence of the White Rajahs from across the river at the Kuching Waterfront. Included in this tour will be a 1-hour pontoon boat river cruise viewing the city from the river.

DAY 05 KUCHING [B/L]

Breakfast is served at the hotel. 0900hrs, pick up from hotel and proceed for Bako National Park (approx. 8 hours)

Highlights:
This small peninsula, 1 ½ hours from Kuching by car and longboat, is home to seven distinct rainforest ecosystems, giving it a remarkable diversity of animal and plant life. Bako’s most famous residents are the bizarre proboscis monkeys, and it is also home to silvered langurs (leaf monkeys), long-tailed macaque monkeys, wild boar, flying squirrels and monitor lizards as well as hundreds of different bird species. Fascinating plant life includes mangroves, strangling figs, carnivorous pitcher plants and symbiotic ant plants. Unique geological features mark the coastline, whilst well-marked trails lead to rugged jungle-covered hilltops and secluded beaches.

DAY 06 KUCHING / MULU [B/D]


Breakfast is served at the hotel. Check-out from hotel and transfer to Kuching Airport for your departure flight to Mulu. Meet upon arrival at Mulu Airport, transfer to check-in hotel, rest & relax. At 1330hrs, meet at resort to be transferred to the Park Headquarters where the guide will lead you to a 3km hike through Mulu’s amazing tropical rainforests.  Discover Lang Cave and its beautiful formation and walk through the Second World’s largest cave entrance: the Massive Deer cave. Relax at the open-air observatory for an opportunity to witness the phenomenon exodus of bats flying out of the cases, spiraling high overhead and ascend to the sky in search of food.  At 1900hrs, hike back to Park Headquarters then transfer back to resort for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 07 MULU [B/L/D]


Breakfast is served at the hotel. At 0830hrs, meet at the resort where the guide will lead you to a long boat ride through the winding rivers to a tribal “Penan” settlement. Continue up river to the enchanting Wind and Clearwater Caves of Mulu. The Wind Cave is famous for the naturally “sculpted” column & pillars of the King’s Chamber.  While the Clearwater Caves is formed by waters of the 118km long cave system. You may take a swim at the refreshing Clearwater.  The highlight is a must see which is the Rajah Brooke butterflies hovering around the river and entrance of the caves.  A most unique sighting of nature well protected and conserved. Return to the resort by boat, free at leisure to enjoy the facilities available at the resort. Dinner is served at the hotel.

DAY 08 MULU / KOTA KINABALU [B]

Breakfast is served at the hotel. Check-out from hotel and transfer to Mulu Airport for your departure flight to Kota Kinabalu via Miri. Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport by TBA flight, meet & greet, transfer to the hotel, check-in, and rest & relax.

DAY 09 KOTA KINABALU [B/L]


Breakfast is served at the hotel. 0800hrs, pick up from hotel and proceed for Discover Kinabalu Park, Relax at Poring Hot Springs (approx. 9 hours)

Highlights:
After an exciting drive (winding one lanes with the occasional bumps) and passing by the paddy fields, Dusun folks’ homes located over the ridges of the Crocker Range, you’ll arrive at the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu. Here, you are given a crash course on 5,000 vascular plant species, about 1,000 orchid types, 90 odd lowland mammal species, 300 over bird species, just to name a few. It is then another 40 kilometres to Poring where treetop canopy walkways suspended 41 metres above the forest floor challenge your height tolerance. Finally, relax and soak your legs in the many hot spring pools before returning to the city.

DAY 10 KOTA KINABALU / SANDAKAN / ABAI [B/L/D]

Breakfast is served at the hotel. Check-out from hotel and transfer to Kota Kinabalu Airport for your early morning departure flight to Sandakan. Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, meet & greet, depart for an approximately 30 minutes’ drive to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center. At this Centre, observe man’s closest relative “the Orangutan” being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. Witness the feeding of Orangutan at 1000hrs at the feeding platform and proceed to the Orangutan Nursery. Later, continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, the Centre that managed to improve the living condition of the rescued sun bear and released their natural behaviors in the 2.5ha enclosed forest. At 1115hrs, depart Sepilok Centre transfer to jetty in Sandakan for schedule boat depart at 1200hrs, take an hour of boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest. Check in Abai Jungle Lodge, late in the afternoon, you will be expecting a cruise to search for wildlife until the sunsets while enjoying a cup of coffee and by night falls continue the night cruise to witness the fireflies as Christmas tree. Return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, again experience the “Jungle at night” at our nature boardwalk to search birds, snakes, insects and other wildlife with the nature guide.

DAY 11 ABAI / SUKAU [B/L/D]

Wake up by the calls of nature. Early morning take a river trip to Pitas Lake to observe wildlife and experience the unique of Pitas Lake. After breakfast, you are invited to join our tree planting project with the locals and enjoy a simple lunch arranged by the villagers at Abai Village. After lunch, cruise up river to Sukau village in search of primates especially the Endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Arrive Sukau, check in at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. Late afternoon, take another river cruise with to Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. Return lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 12 SUKAU / SANDAKAN / KOTA KINABALU [B/L]

After breakfast, river cruise down by boat back to Sandakan. Upon arrival at jetty, transfer to the airport with lunch at local restaurant en-route, for your return flight to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport, meet & greet, transfer to check-in hotel for beach stay.
