You will start your adventure with a crash course on the many species of Flora and Fauna that inhabit the foothills and lowlands of Mount Kinabalu, before taking to the heavens in the treetop canopy walkways. There's also a chance to take in the cultural and historical highlights of Kota Kinabalu, where you can meander your way through the weird and wonderful markets along the waterfront. Observe Man's closest relative, the 'Orang Utan' at the Sepilok Orang Utang Rehabilitation Centre for an amazing experience providing you with ever lasting memories you will cherish for a lifetime. Guests can also take part in a tree planting project and enjoy lunch arranged by the local villagers at Abai before taking a cruise to the Ox Bow Lake. Here you will be able to experience an early morning dawn chorus before exploring the local area at your leisure. At Danum Valley you will get the chance to seek out the majestic, yet illusive Sumatran Rhinoceros, amongst a variety of other animals. In addition to the simply stunning wildlife, the area boasts a spectacular waterfall, which you can take a refreshing dip in after trekking up the steep slopes of an ancient burial ground known locally as 'Coffin Cliff'. You will end this tour at the Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai, Kota Kinabalu, where you will be able to relax and enjoy the hotels facilities as well as exploring the surrounding area and beach. DAY 01 KOTA KINABALU – Arrival
Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport by TBA flight, meet & greet, transfer to the hotel, check-in, rest & relax.

DAY 02 KOTA KINABALU [B/L]
Breakfast is served at the hotel.
0800hrs, pick up from hotel and proceed for Discover Kinabalu Park, Relax at Poring Hot Springs (approx. 9 hours)

Highlights:-
After an exciting drive (winding one lanes with the occasional bumps) and passing by the paddy fields, Dusun folks’ homes located over the ridges of the Crocker Range, you’ll arrive at the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu. Here, you are given a crash course on 5,000 vascular plant species, about 1,000 orchid types, 90 odd lowland mammal species, 300 over bird species, just to name a few. It is then another 40 kilometres to Poring where treetop canopy walkways suspended 41 metres above the forest floor challenge your height tolerance. Finally, relax and soak your legs in the many hot spring pools before returning to the city.

DAY 03 KOTA KINABALU [B]

The day is free for you to explore the city on your own.
1600hrs, pick up from hotel and proceed for Evening City & Market Walk (approx. 4 hours)

Highlights:-
Begin your tour with some of the historical highlights of the city before ending your time wondering through the weird and wonderful markets along the waterfront.
You will be collected mid-afternoon and will start your trip at ‘zero km’, the point used to measure all distances within the state of Sabah right outside the Sabah Tourism Building which is one of the three only buildings in the city that still remain relatively intact after the war. You will walk along Gaya Street and along past the Atkinson clock tower located on Australian Place. From the clock tower you will walk to Dea Soka which is the central square in the city. You will walk by Malaysia Monument which marks when Malaysia officially became Malaysia (when Malaya welcomed Sarawak and Sabah in 1963) and also pass the North Borneo Memorial which was built to remember the fallen British, Malaysia and Australian soldiers that fell during both the 1st and 2nd world wars as well as the Indonesian confrontations. From here you continue through the streets of Kota Kinabalu to the waterfront and begin your culinary adventure. There are three main markets that are set up along the waterfront permanently (a Pilipino handicraft market, a fruit market and a wet market with all sorts of weird and wonderful fresh fish). However in the evenings, around the time you will be arriving at a whole number of other little markets in makeshift tents and stalls set themselves up depending on the time of year and the weather. Finally, proceed for a local seafood dinner before heading back to your hotel.

DAY 04 KOTA KINABALU / SANDAKAN / ABAI [B/L/D]

Check-out from hotel and transfer to Kota Kinabalu Airport for your early morning departure flight to Sandakan.

Highlights:-
Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, meet & greet, depart for an approximately 30 minutes’ drive to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. At this Centre, observe man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan” being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. Witness the feeding of Orang Utan at 1000hrs at the feeding platform and proceed to the Orang Utan Nursery. Later, continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, the Centre that managed to improve the living condition of the rescued sun bear and released their natural behaviours in the 2.5ha enclosed forest.
At 1115hrs, depart Sepilok Centre transfer to jetty in Sandakan for schedule boat depart at 1200hrs, take an hour of boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest. Check in Abai Jungle Lodge, late in the afternoon, you will be expecting a cruise to search for wildlife until the sunsets while enjoying a cup of coffee and by night falls continue the night cruise to witness the fireflies as Christmas tree. Return to the lodge for dinner. After dinner, again experience the “Jungle at night” at our nature boardwalk to search birds, snakes, insects and other wildlife with the nature guide.

DAY 05 ABAI / SUKAU [B/L/D]
Wake up by the calls of nature. Early morning take a river trip to Pitas Lake to observe wildlife and experience the unique of Pitas Lake. After breakfast, you are invited to join our tree planting project with the locals and enjoy a simple lunch arranged by the villagers at Abai Village. After lunch, cruise up river to Sukau village in search of primates especially the Endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Arrive Sukau, check in at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. Late afternoon, take another river cruise down the Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. Return lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 06 SUKAU [B/L/D]
Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. Early morning, take a river cruise trip to the Ox Bow Lake to observe wildlife and experience the early morning river ambience. Return to the lodge for breakfast then free at own leisure. After lunch, proceed afternoon river cruise with electric motor to search for more wildlife.

DAY 07 SUKAU / LAHAD DATU / DANUM VALLEY [B/L/D]
Early morning, transfer overland to Lahad Datu. Drive 83km through selectively logged forest, cocoa and softwood plantations before arriving at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge beside Danum River on the edge of 438 sq. km of undisturbed lowland rainforest. The Lodge is home to the full range of Sabah's lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Pgymy Elephants, Clouded Leopards, and Orang Utans. So far some 275 species of birds have been recorded in the area.
After Lunch, proceed to Conference Room for slide presentation. In the Afternoon, introduction to the forest by trekking to nature trails and tree top Canopy Walkway
In the evening a slide show and if weather permits please join the night drive or night walk.

Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge

DAY 08 DANUM VALLEY [B/L/D]
After breakfast, spend the whole day exploring the forest for birds and mammals, leading up to an escarpment with ancient burial coffins “Coffin Cliff”. Trek to waterfall for a dip in refreshing rock pools – “Jacuzzi Pool”. Return to lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, jungle trek or go for a relaxing session of “tubing” down the Danum River.

DAY 09 DANUM VALLEY [B/L/D]
After breakfast, proceed to morning jungle trek. Trek to the Fairy Falls and Serpent Falls to experience more of the sound and sights of the rainforest. Return to lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, jungle trek or go for a relaxing session of “tubing” down the Danum River.

DAY 10 DANUM VALLEY / LAHAD DATU / KOTA KINABALU [B/L]
In the morning free at your own leisure. After lunch, check out for the lodge before departing for Lahad Datu. Take the late afternoon flight back to Kota Kinabalu.
Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu Airport, meet & greet, transfer to check-in hotel for beach stay.
