Day 1 - Arrival in Havana
Welcome to Cuba! Take a transfer to the hotel. You will stay at a 3* hotel in Havana.
Day 2 - Havana - Santa Clara
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before meeting your guide at 08:30 am. Your journey begins with a drive to Santa Clara. Home to a prestigious university, this city has an edgy youth culture, setting it apart from other areas of Cuba that entertain an endearing, timeless atmosphere. Nevertheless, Santa Clara has many associations with Che Guevara and is of great historical importance, in that it was the liberation of Santa Clara that marked the end of the Batista regime. You will learn more about this history with a visit to the museum, the memorial of Che Guevara, and the Tren Blindado monument. You will spend the evening at a Casa Particular.
Day 3 - Santa Clara – Trinidad
In the morning we will drive you to the colourful city of Trinidad. Trinidad is located in Cuba’s most historically important sugarcane growing region. The former wealth of the city is made evident by the opulent colonial buildings which are still in use throughout the city. The old town is wonderful to explore on foot since there are no cars - it's a cobbled pedestrian only area. Trinidad is known for its brightly coloured houses and timeless neighbourhoods, bursting with the charming buzz of trotting horses, and bicycles. Spend the night at a Casa Particular.
Day 4 – Trinidad
Today you will have lots of free time to explore or relax as you see fit. Spend the day in the city of Trinidad, which was declared a UNESCO world heritage side in 1988. Walk around the Plaza Mayor or visit the Museo Romántico. If you’re feeling active you are also welcome to join us for an exciting salsa lesson (all activities optional). Spend the night at a Casa Particular.
Day 5 - Trinidad – Cienfuegos
Today you will travel to one of Cuba’s most beautiful and lively cities - Cienfuegos! Along the way, you will see panoramas of stunning nature and botanical gardens. You will get to know the old town on a guided walking tour. Later on, you will take an exciting boat tour of Jagua Bay. Spend the night at a Casa Particular.
Day 6 – Cienfuegos
Spend the day as you wish. You are in a wonderful city so there’s lots to do. If you would like you can visit the beautiful botanical gardens or the Palacio del Valle of Cienfuegos (both optional). The Palacio de Valle, with its gothic, Venetian, French and neoclassical architectural influences is one of Cienfuegos’s jewels. In the evening, make sure to experience the nightlife on the El Malecón board walk. You will spend the night at a Casa Particular.
Day 7- Cienfuegos – Havana
Today we will drive you back to Havana, where a guided walking tour will show you the historic centre of the Old Town – La Habana Vieja. The old centre of Havana was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1982. The Old Town has a classic, timeless atmosphere. Stroll through Havana's colourful streets, bursting with classic American cars from the 50s and rhythms of salsa and cha cha cha. You will visit parks, buildings and historical sightseeing spots all over. You will stay at a 3* hotel in Havana.
Day 8 – Havana Departure
Enjoy a hearty breakfast. We will drive you to the airport. We would be delighted to help you extend your stay in Cuba and book more nights for you with one of our add-ons if you’re still not quite ready to head home. See you next time!
