Couples Holidays in Tobago

Tobago for couples

Tobago is a quieter island than its neighbour Trinidad and, as such, is the perfect choice if you're looking for a romantic holiday. It's renowned for its stunning natural beauty, with pristine beaches, verdant rainforests and beautiful coral reefs all waiting to be discovered hand-in-hand.

There are some excellent resorts in Tobago that provide every comfort and luxury for couples, with seductive swimming pools, secluded gardens and outstanding restaurants to make your break one to really remember.

Depending on where you choose to stay, you can also take advantage of relaxing spa facilities - book a couples massage to unwind together, or simply enjoy the atmosphere as you sit in the jacuzzi. There are also ample opportunities to get out and about and discover some of Tobago's incredible wildlife and stunning scenery together.

Romance in the Caribbean

There are many excellent places for a romantic holiday in Tobago, but perhaps one of the best is Pigeon Point. This is close to the busier Crown Point area, but slightly removed providing a little more seclusion and tranquility.

This is also where you'll find Tobago's most famous beach - Pigeon Point - which is protected from development and therefore has a wonderfully idyllic atmosphere. The only buildings here have thatched roofs and open sides, while its iconic wooden jetty has featured in travel magazines around the world.

Spend a day here strolling hand in hand along the shoreline to find the perfect spot for relaxing in the sun. You can also reach Buccoo Bay and its stunning coral reef, as well as Nylon Pool, a shallow coral lagoon, from Pigeon Point by boat, both of which are must-visits. The snorkelling in both these locations is outstanding, with the colourful reefs teeming with marine life - seeing this with your partner is a wonderful experience to share.

Don't miss out on the chance to enjoy dinner at some of Tobago's excellent restaurants during your holiday. The local cuisine represents the African heritage of the islanders and is delicious, featuring lots of seafood, as well as spicy flavours in many dishes.

Crown Point is also home to many restaurants, some of which have beautiful sea views and make it the ideal place for a romantic dinner for two. Your hotel is also likely to have tables in stunning settings, but don't be afraid to venture out of your resort for an evening or two.

Enjoy seclusion on a holiday in Tobago

While the beaches around Crown Point are often busy, there are many other stretches of sand along Tobago's coastline that are deserted much of the time. The Lowlands region, which is on the island's western tip, is a perfect place to come to if it's peace and quiet you're after.

Stonehaven Bay, the three beaches around Plymouth and Buccoo Bay are among the most picturesque and usually empty seaside spots where you can soak up the sun with your loved one while enjoying the pristine beach without another soul in sight.

Another great option if you want to spend some time alone and see a bit more of Tobago's beautiful scenery is to go for a walk. There are numerous trails in the island's nature reserves, including the Main Ridge Forest Reserve, as well as routes that will lead you to sights such as the stunning Argyle Falls - a waterfall surrounded by the jungle where you can bathe in river pools – how more romantic could it get?

Make your break extra special

To really ensure you get the most out of a romantic holiday in Tobago, choose a tailor-made package that will allow you to create the perfect trip for you and your loved one. You can select the right hotel for your needs, plan excursions that suit your interests and organise special extras, such as candlelit dinners on the beach.

This is a particularly good way to go if you're planning to visit Tobago for a special occasion, whether that's a birthday, wedding anniversary or even a honeymoon.
