The Maldives sees jump in UK visitor numbers

Following the opening of a flurry of new hotels and an expanded airport, the latest visitor figures for popular Indian Ocean holiday destination The Maldives reveal a 9.4 percent increase in travellers from the UK during the first few months of 2018, compared with the same period in 2017.

RIU Palace Punta Cana to reopen in July following huge refurbishment project

The RIU Palace Punta Cana hotel in the Dominican Republic has announced it will reopen to guests in July, following an extensive refurbishment programme. The luxury all-inclusive resort sits on Arena Gorda beach and will have an expanded main building with new guest rooms, a spa, fitness centre, three new swimming pools and a new Spanish restaurant.

Royal Caribbean invests millions to upgrade CocoCay Island in the Bahamas

Miami-based cruise line, Royal Caribbean International has recently announced an ambitious investment of over £100 million for its Perfect Day Island Collection, a series of exclusive private island destinations across the globe. As part of this project, CocoCay Island in the Bahamas will undergo an extensive renovation; transformations will comprise a water park, beach club and even a helium balloon. Upgrades are expected to be complete by 2019.

Rotana has announced the opening of the new Pearl Rotana Abu Dhabi hotel. Located in the Capital Business Centre business district in Abu Dhabi, the luxury hotel has 315 guest rooms and suites with views of the Arabian Gulf. Facilities include a rooftop swimming pool, spa treatment rooms, a Bodylines fitness and wellness club, ad five restaurants and bars serving international cuisine.
