Margaritaville Beach Resort and Marina to open in Bahamas in 2019

The Margaritaville hotel brand has announced that it will open a new resort in the Caribbean in 2019. The Margaritaville Beach Resort and Marina will be located in Nassau in the Bahamas, and will feature 150 guest rooms and 150 residences. The $250 million, six-acre development is under construction, and it will have a 45-slip marina, a private beach with cabanas, the LandShark water park, St. Somewhere Spa, and several dining outlets.

Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville hotel brand will be coming to the Bahamas. The Margaritaville Beach Resort and Marina will be located in downtown Nassau, and is due to open in mid-2019.

The resort will have 150 guest rooms, as well as 150 oceanfront residences, of which 100 will be part of the One Particular Harbour at The Pointe and will range from one to three-bedroom residences with eight-foot-wide glass balconies and uninterrupted views of the sea. Construction has already started on the $250 million development will be located on six acres of tropical beachfront

The upscale resort will have facilities including a 45-slip marina, a private beach with cabanas, and the LandShark water park, where there will be a cave aquarium, blue hole diving pool, water slide tower, infinity pool, surf simulator and a tropical island that looks out across a lazy river. Guests will have access to lavish treatments at St. Somewhere Spa, entertainment at the movie theatre, bowling alley and outdoor stage, and fun activities at the kids' club. There will also be a number of Margaritaville food and beverage concepts which will offer diverse Caribbean and international cuisine.

There will be a public-access boardwalk along the resort, which will be lined by tiki hut-style marina shops. The pier will boast a restaurant and yacht club, and guests will also be able to take pirate ship excursions and a water taxis from here.

The Jimmy Buffet-inspired Margaritaville brand currently operates eleven hotels and resorts across the south-eastern U.S. and the Caribbean. The company is planning to add another 23 resort to its portfolio in the near future. The group’s collection also includes four gaming locations and over 60 food and beverage venues.

Located on the island of New Providence, Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas. The island boasts pristine beaches and colourful coral reefs. During their visit to the capital, guests can visit tourist attractions such as the Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Centre, Fort Fincastle, Fort Charlotte, the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas, Government House, the Pirates of Nassau Museum, Cable Beach, and the bustling Straw Market where they can pick up handcrafted souvenirs and gifts.
