SLS Baha Mar hotel officially opens at mega resort in Bahamas

The SLS Baha Mar opened its doors to guests at the end of last month, making it the second property to open at the $4.2 billion Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas. The luxury hotel has 299 guest rooms and suites, and is the fifth hotel in the SBE lifestyle brand. The property has several dining venues and bars, swimming pools, the Caribbean's first ESPA Spa, and a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course.

The SLS Baha Mar hotel has become the second hotel to open at the $4.2 billion Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas. The luxury hotel is the SBE lifestyle brand’s fifth hotel to open.

The upscale hotel has 299 guest rooms and suites, and its design celebrates the blend of traditional and new Bahamian culture. Each of the guest rooms features local Bahamian-designed furniture and balconies with views overlooking the sea of resort grounds. There are an array of modern amenities including HDTVs, in-room technology connectivity, digital safes, mini bars with SLS Signature products, walk-in rainfall showers, SLS signature bath robes and slippers, and Ciel Reserve bath amenities.

SLS Baha mar has nine stylish dining venues and bars, from rooftop bars to poolside dining. These include Katsuya by Starck Baha Mar with Japanese classics and Shushi; Cleo Mediterráneo with Mediterranean cuisine, Bungalow Pool Bar & Grill’ with cocktails and light bites; and Fi'lia by Michael Schwartz which is due to open soon with Italian culinary delights. Bars and lounges range from the Monkey Bar with its indoor piazza, to the rooftop Skybar with beautiful views of the island and sea.

During their stay at SLS Baha Mar, guests can enjoy access to upscale facilities. These include an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature designed golf course, the Caribbean’s first ESPA spa, and the largest casino in the Caribbean.

The Baha Mar complex is located in Nassau on New Providence Island in the Bahamas. As well as three luxury hotels, the mega resort has a 50,000 square-foot retail village with boutique shops, local Bahamian arts and crafts markets, restaurants and entertainment venues. There’s a 20-acre Eco Water Park with a pool experience, three luxury spas, and the largest convention centre in the Bahamas with 200,000 square-feet of space that will be used both for business and as an entertainment and sports arena.

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas, and located on New Providence Island. The tropical island boasts beautiful beaches and coral reefs and an array of attractions. Hotspots include Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Centre, Fort Fincastle, Fort Charlotte, the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas, Government House, the Pirates of Nassau Museum, Cable Beach, and the lively Straw Market with handcrafted souvenirs and gifts.
