Sanctuary Cap Cana resort in the Dominican Republic have a new management

The hotel group Playa Hotels and Resorts has taken over the management of a luxury hotel in the Dominican Republic. The company took over the Sanctuary Cap Cana from AlSol Hotels and Resorts.

Located on the east coast of the Dominican Republic in the gated Cap Cana community, the luxury hotel will be rebranded under the Playa Hotels and Resorts brand. The acquisition is part of the group’s plan to expand its portfolio in the popular Punta Cana region of the Caribbean nation.

Sanctuary Cap Cana is located on a white sandy beachfront in Cap Cana, and has 184 guest rooms in 12 categories, including 33 luxury villas that face the beach and ocean. The adults-only all-inclusive resort is situated just 15 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport.

The property has an array of upscale facilities and services that provide the perfect stay for couples, groups of friends and solo travellers. These include five restaurants, six bars, five swimming pools, a Jacuzzi, a fitness centre, and a private stretch of white sand beach where guests can relax in the sunshine or take a dip in the turquoise sea.

Accommodation options include Junior Suites, Castle Island Suites, Terrace Tower Suites, Monarch Villas, and Royalty Villas. In-room amenities and services include double jetted tubs in bathrooms, daily restocked minibars, flat-screen TVs, furnished terraces, espresso machines, high speed wireless internet, and air conditioning.

Earlier this year, Playa Hotels & Resorts purchased land in Cap Cana, and it has recently broken ground on a new resort complex that will have Hyatt Zilara adults-only hotel and a Hyatt Ziva hotel offering a total of 750 guest rooms. The complex will have a convention centre, several themed restaurants, bars, a theatre, shops, an aquatic park, a luxury spa and fitness centre.

The hotel group owns and operates Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara-branded resorts across Cancun, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Montego Bay in Jamaica, and it has the Royal Playa del Carmen hotel in the Mexican Caribbean. Playa Hotels and Resorts announced this year that it is planning to launch new properties under the new Panama Jack brand. The first two resorts are due to open in December this year in Cancun and Playa del Carmen in Mexico.
