Abu Dhabi launches Summer Season with family activities

This summer, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority will host the Abu Dhabi Summer Season with a wide range of family activities and entertainment. Taking place until 20th August, 2017, the emirate will offer a wide range of promotions, discounts, performances, events and competitions from hotels and shopping centres, and special appearances from famous characters.

Abu Dhabi is currently hosting its Summer Season with a wide range of fun activities and entertainment for families. The festivities are being celebrated across numerous attractions, hotels and shopping malls across the emirate until 20th August, 2017.

The events are being organised by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA), and they will take place in various venues throughout Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra. There are family entertainment shows, competitions, performances, discounts from hotels and retail outlets, and special promotions.

The emirate will host the famous comedian Mike Epps who will visit the Middle East for the first time and will perform on Al Raha Beach Theatre on 18th August.

There will also be the chance to win one of five BMW cars every week, and there will be special packages that give away a two-night stay in a five-star hotel in Abu Dhabi when visitors spend a minimum of AED200 before 20th August, 2017.

In a show, younger guests can enjoy special appearances from famous cartoon characters in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, such as Tom and Jerry. There will also be “The Cheese Maze” experience taking place at the Dalma Mall.

On 18th August, the Namaste Group will mark the 70th Indian Independence Day with a performance led by Salim and Sulaiman at the Emirates Palace. A Bollywood trip will be recreated in front of 20 famous Bollywood stars.

The renowned Ninja Turtles - Michelangelo, Donatello, Rafael and Leonardo – will also be making an appearance, combating crime in a fun show. Ahead of the 2017 World Cup, Abu Dhabi Summer Season will hold activities that will test the skills of sports enthusiasts from 3rd to 5th August.

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and a popular tourist destination for travellers from all over the world thanks to its luxury hotels, golden sand beaches, and unique attractions. Recent reports have revealed that the emirate recorded almost 1.6 million visitors in the first quarter of 2017, which is a 7 per cent increase compared to last year. The majority of travellers in Abu Dhabi originate from China, India, the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.
