Hilton Worldwide will be adding a new property to its portfolio in the Middle East, after announcing that it will be opening the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort. The luxury hotel will be part of the new development by Miral Asset Management LLC that will be located on the southern end of Yas Island.

The Yas Bay project is a new development located on a three-mile waterfront stretch that is expected to be one of the most vibrant new destinations in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2019, and it will cater for leisure and business travellers.

B. R. Kiran, the Chief Portfolio Officer of Miral Asset Management LLC, commented:

“We are proud to announce our partnership with Hilton which represents another milestone in our journey to establish Yas Island as a top global destination.

“The creation of a world-class family resort at the heart of Yas Bay, our iconic waterfront development, will provide visitors with a five-star opportunity to extend their leisure and business stays and enjoy the unique attractions and memorable experiences that only Yas Island can offer.”

Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort will have 641 guest rooms and suites, as well as a range of upscale facilities. These include seven diverse restaurants, a mixed-use conference centre, and a beach area with an infinity pool suspended over the sparkling waters of the Arabian Gulf. Guests will also be positioned close to the nearby 18,000 capacity indoor Yas Arena, which can host events such as sporting competitions, theatre and arts shows, and concerts.

Carlos Khneisser, the Vice President and Development for MENA, Hilton added:

“This represents a landmark deal for Hilton and puts us at the forefront of the transformational journey Yas Island is undertaking to become one of the world’s top leisure destinations.”

The AED 12 billion South of Yas Island development is looking to attract more than 15,000 new residents, 14,000 daily visitors from all over the world, and 10,000 professionals who will work at the new twofour54media zone. The development is scheduled to be complete by 2022 and it will have two hotels, a recreational pier and the Yas Arena.
