The Pointe lifestyle resort in Bahamas, second stage now underway

The second stage of a multi-million-dollar resort development in the Caribbean is now underway after ground was broken last March. The Pointe is located on seven acres of land on the waterfront of Nassau.

Scheduled to open to guests in 2018, the luxury lifestyle resort in the Bahamas will cost US$200 million. The project currently employs 277 employees at the existing hotel and business centre, and a further 200 Bahamian construction employees will be appointed by the developer during Phase II of The Pointe development.

Philip Davis, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Bahamas during the recent ground-breaking ceremony, stated:

“Phase II of The Pointe will encompass development of a 100-room, eight-story condominium complex with oceanfront residences, which is slated to open in September 2018.

“The 150-room branded resort and spa with business centre, dining and retail amenities will open shortly thereafter in November 2018.”

When completed next year, The Point will have a luxury hotel and spa with 150 guest rooms and suites, ocean-facing residences, and offices. Leisure facilities at the site include a marina and yacht club, and 50,000 square feet of space that boasts upscale boutiques, dining venues, and a variety of entertainment venues, including a rooftop bar, a nightclub, a cinema, and a performing arts centres for dance, music and events.

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas and is located on the island of New Providence, which is home to beautiful beaches and coral reefs. Holidaymakers can visit the Ardastra Gardens, Zoo and Conservation Centre, Fort Fincastle, Fort Charlotte, the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas, Government House, the Pirates of Nassau Museum, Cable Beach, and the bustling Straw Market with handcrafted souvenirs and gifts.

The Bahamas nation is an archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean, north of Cuba. During their stay in the Caribbean country, tourists can enjoy an array of activities such as snorkelling and scuba diving in warm, turquoise, crystal-clear waters, and hiking through the thriving national parks to catch glimpses of the Flamingo, the national bird of the Bahamas. Popular attractions include historic sites such as Pompey Museum of Slavery and Emancipation, and thanks to the endless sunshine, visitors can take part in water sports such as jet-skiing, sailing, fishing, windsurfing, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding.
