St Regis Langkawi in Malaysia appoints three new talents chefs to its kitchens
The St Regis Langkawi Resort in Malaysia has appointed three new "kings of the kitchen". Gaetan Biesuz, Robby Motota, Beno Wicaksana will all combine their culinary talents to create a unique and delicious dining experience for guests who can chose from a variety of indoor and outdoor settings, including the Kayu Puti, a specialty restaurant that is perched over the water.
Three new chefs have been appointed as the “kings of the kitchen” at the St. Regis Langkawi Resort in Malaysia. Executive Pastry, Chef de Cuisine Beno Wicaksana and Chef Robby Motota will blend their culinary talent to create delicious cuisine for guests.
The three expert chefs will bring their creations to the tables of diners in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings at the luxury resorts in Malaysia. These include the Kayu Puti, a restaurant that was designed by designed by Bill Bensley, and is perched over the sparkling water.
Gaetan Biesuz, a French chef, has worked in kitchens across Dubai, the United States, England and Thailand. Biesuz works closely with local producers and suppliers and respects the local environment, community and culture, as well as the entire team that support him in the kitchen.
Beno Wicaksana was born in Indonesia and he has worked in the kitchens of some of the country’s top five-star hotels and resorts. Inspired by his culinary family, Wicaksana prides himself on using the freshest ingredients possible in his kitchens, and works closely with local suppliers. His favourite dish to make at the St. Regis Langkawi is the regional Asam Pedas black cod.
Executive Pastry Chef Robby Motota also originates from Indonesia, and he has worked in the kitchens of luxury hotels in Indonesia, the Maldives, Dubai, Thailand and Qatar. He started baking from a young age, and his speciality dish is the traditional Nagasari with an added modern twist.
Chef Motota, explained:
“I believe in synchronising local cultures through their ingredients and cuisine with modern cooking techniques.
“What we aim to do here is produce the very highest quality pastries and baked goods that are both visually creative and unbelievably tasty.”
The St. Regis Langkawi is a five-star resort that sits on the white sand shores of the Andaman Sea, set against the lush ancient rainforest. The luxury resort has 85 suites and four overwater villas, as well as upscale facilities and services.
The spacious suites feature contemporary décor and dark wood floors and deep pile carpets. Rooms have private furnished balconies with sea or rainforest views, as well as modern amenities including 49-inch LCD TVs, air conditioning, minibars, wireless internet, espresso machines, Bose sound systems, and butler service. The overwater villas sit overlooking the beach and sea, and have private infinity pools, furnished terraces, living areas, dining areas, kitchenettes, and butler service.
High end facilities at the beachfront resort include six restaurants and bars, an outdoor swimming pool, and the St Regis Athletic Club, and the Iridium Spa with its pampering treatments. Guests can enjoy water and beach sports, nature walks in the rainforest, excursions to nearby towns on the mainland, or they can take the Langkawi Cable car across Langkawi Island.
