Banyan Tree Phuket in Thailand appoints new hotel manager

The Banyan Tree Phuket in Thailand has appointed a new hotel manager. German national, Manuel Lang, will report to the property’s general manager, and he will bring more than 20 years of hospitality experience to the role, after working in various management position at hotels and resorts across the world, including the General Manager of the Putahracsa Hua Hin.

Manuel Lang has been appointed as the new hotel manager of the Banyan Tree Phuket in Thailand. The German national will be support the hotel’s team and report to the General Manager, Sriram Kailasam.

Lang brings a wealth of experience to the new role, following more than 20 years of working in the hospitality industry in various management positions in hotels across Thailand and Asia. These include the General Manager of Cham’s House on Koh Kood Island, and the General Manager of Putahracsa Hua Hin resort.

The new manager began his career in the luxury hotel market in 1993, and has since worked in hotels across Europe and America, before entering the Asian market, seven years ago. In a statement, Lang said that he was:

“Pleased to join the flagship of the flourishing Banyan Tree brand, and is happy to discover Phuket which continues to deliver the dream to quality travellers.”

Banyan Tree Phuket was recently ranked among the top 5 resorts in Thailand by Travel and Leisure magazine. The upscale resort boasts pool villa accommodation with amenities including wooden decks, his and hers dressing rooms, open-air bath tubs, iPod docking stations, flat-screen TVs, CD and DVD players, mini bars, and coffee and tea making facilities. Luxury facilities including an award-winning golf course, lavish spa and several gourmet restaurants. There’s a modern fitness centre, a library, a 40-metre lap pool, Jacuzzis, three tennis courts, and the Turtle Club for Kids.

During their stay in Phuket, guests can hike to the hilltop Big Buddha of Phuket, wander along Bangla Road with its vibrant nightclubs and bars, sunbathe on the crescent-shaped beach in Patong, enjoy Las Vegas-style entertainment at the Phuket Fantasea theme park, or watch colourful cabaret shows. Popular attractions include the Wat Chalong Buddhist temple, the Splash Jungle Water Park, Phuket Zoo, and the Phuket Aquarium.
