Mauritius introduces new "Golfing Mauritius Pass" to golf-loving holidaymakers
Mauritius introduces new "Golfing Mauritius Pass" to golf-loving holidaymakers Keen golfers planning a Mauritius holiday will now be able to benefit from the newly-launched "Golfing Mauritius Pass", a ticket enabling them to enjoy a minimum of two rounds at all of Mauritius' nine championship 18-hole courses.
Holidaymakers seeking golfing recreation in addition to sun and beach will have found in Mauritius the ultimate paradise. Thanks to a new initiative put forward by the island's Tourism Office, abbreviated as MTPA (which stands for Mauritius Tourism Promotion Agency), in collaboration with the Mauritius Golf Tourism Association (MGTA), golf-loving travellers heading to Mauritius on holidays will be able to enjoy reduced green fees at all of the Indian Ocean nation's nine 18-hole championship golf courses, after purchasing a newly-launched "Golfing Mauritius Pass".
The new golfing pass can be obtained ahead of travel through Mauritius Golf Tourism Association, either online (at their official website mauritiusgolftourism.com) or through a tour operator or travel agency. In any case, the pass will benefit golfers with discounted green fees and a minimum of two rounds at different golf courses. During low season months (May to September, the golf pass will be priced at 75 euros (roughly around £65), going up to 135 euros (close to £115) during peak tourism season months (namely January, February, March, April and October).
Interested golf enthusiasts aiming for a Mauritius golfing holiday during the low season months must take into account that low season golfing passes are limited and there are only 150 of these available, so securing one well ahead of travel is optimal to avoid disappointment.
Holders of the new Golfing Mauritius Pass will enjoy discounted golfing sessions at the following eight championship golf courses: Avalon Golf Estate, Ile Aux Cerfs Golf Course, Paradis Golf Club, Belle Mare Plage Legend Golf Course, Belle Mare Plage Links Golf Course, Heritage Golf Club, Four Seasons Golf Club at Anahita and Tamarina Golf Course, as well as the 9-hole golf course at the Maritim Golf Club (part of the Maritim Resort and Spa Mauritius).
Kevin Ramkaloan, MTPA Director said of the new golfing incentive:
"With the Golfing Mauritius Pass, we have the ambition to establish Mauritius as a Golf Destination and to attract more visitors during the winter period."
In an effort to highlight not only Mauritius' world-class golfing at a selection of excellent courses for players of all levels, but also the island's favourable all-year-round weather conditions, and its first-class beachfront beach resorts, this new move also aims to put the Indian Ocean island on the spotlight for high-end luxury travellers in search of refined, seaside recreation.
New Facebook and Twitter pages have also been launched under the Golfing Mauritius name, aimed at updating travellers (and potential golfers) on new events, seasonal specials and provide regular information regarding golfing pursuits in the island.
In the words of MGTA President, Alain Lenoir:
"On the web-site, the visitor can also buy his Golfing Mauritius Pass and thus, can book several rounds of golf even before travelling. The Golfing Mauritius Pass gives access to world-class standard golf courses at a preferential green fee."
Keen golfers no longer have an excuse not to make Mauritius their next holiday destination. Golfing passes include green fees only and other extras.
