Rosewood Hotels and Resorts has been given the management contract for a new resort in the Bahamas. Appointed by the Bahamian subsidiary of the Hong Kong-based development company Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (CTFE), the hotel group will manage the Rosewood Baha Mar in Nassau.

The luxury resort will be part of the Baha Mar Resort complex in the Bahamas, and it is scheduled to open to guests in 2018. Located on the pristine Cable Beach, the hotel will have 185 guest rooms and suites with views of the ocean and private balconies, as well as five four-bedroom beachfront villas with private pools.

Sonia Cheng, the Chief Executive Officer of Rosewood Hotel Group, commented:

“Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has had a relationship with Baha Mar since 2011, and we are truly excited to re-engage as the operator of Baha Mar’s luxury resort through our partnership with CTFE, Baha Mar Resort’s new owner.

“We are fully committed to this project and look forward to raising our flag in The Bahamas as originally planned.”

Rosewood Baha Mar’s facilities will include four restaurants that will serve diverse cuisine. These include the Pool Grille with al fresco dining, fresh seafood and grilled dishes; the Commonwealth farm-to-table restaurant which will have a private Rum Room; the nautical-inspired Bar Riva with small dishes and cocktails; and the Library Lounge where guests can enjoy afternoon tea and unusual tea cocktails.

For leisure, guests can work out in the fitness centre, swim in the two swimming pools, relax on luxury cabanas, enjoy beauty treatments at the salon, or indulge in a pampering treatment at the Sense, A Rosewood Spa. Guests will also have direct access to a private stretch of the white sand beach where they can enjoy beach games and water sports in the turquoise sea.

Business facilities at the resort include eight meeting and events spaces that cater for a variety of occasions and feature modern technology. There’s a 4,950-square-foot ballroom, board rooms, a meeting room, private dining room, and two outside event areas.

The new Rosewood Baha Mar will join the hotel group’s existing properties such as Jumby Bay, A Rosewood resort, and Rosewood Tucker’s Point. The company’s Rosewood Little Dix Bay resort is scheduled to re-open to guests later this year.

Rosewood Hotels and Resorts operates 18 luxury properties across 11 countries, and the hotel group has an additional 18 hotels currently under development. Each property has been individually designed to embrace its location and surrounding environment. The company is planning to double its portfolio of global hotels by 2020.
