The Oberoi Marrakech hotel set to open in Morocco this year

The Oberoi Group is planning to launch its first hotel in Morocco this year, with the opening of The Oberoi Marrakech. The luxury hotel will be located on 25 acres of land made up of citrus orchards and olive groves, creating a tranquil retreat for guests.

The hotel will have 77 lavish villas with private heated swimming pools and landscaped gardens. There will also be six Deluxe Rooms, and a Presidential Suite with private pools in the main hotel building, and amenities including large bathrooms, separate showers, dressing rooms, and large private terraces.

Guests can enjoy pampering treatments, daily yoga classes and Ayurveda at the Oberoi Spa which spans 2,000 square metres on a private island surrounded by a lake in the orchard. Tourists can relax on Moroccan hammocks, swim in the indoor pool, or relax with a juice or tea while enjoying views of the Atlas Mountains.

Facilities at The Oberoi Marrakech include a large pool surrounded by gardens, three restaurants and a bar. The three dining outlets include the Moroccan Restaurant with carved columns, chandeliers, huge fireplaces, and traditional Moroccan cuisine; The Restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining spaces, a lounge and a range of international cuisine; and the Poolside Restaurant with high-domed ceilings and indoor and outdoor setting by the pool and gardens. Holidaymakers can work out in the modern fitness centre, before heading to the bar to sip cocktails while listening to live music by the fireplace.

During their stay at the luxury hotel, guests can visit nearby attractions such as Jemaa el-Fnaa, a busy market where snake charmers, musicians and dancers perform, or visit the traditional souks, spice markets and historical ruins in Marrakech.

There are nearby championship golf courses including the 27-hole Royal Golf of Marrakech, or travellers can head up to the snow-capped Atlas Mountains to hike along trails and pass though Berber villages while enjoying magnificent views.

Founded in 1934, The Oberoi Group operates 30 luxury hotels, a Nile Cruiser and a Motor Vessel in Kerala. The group runs hotels and resorts under the luxury Oberoi and five-star Trident brands in destinations across India, Egypt, Mauritius, the Maldives, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, The United Arab Emirates, and now Morocco.
