Swiss hotel chain Mövenpick has opened its first resort on the Indonesian island of Bali. The new Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali has 297 luxury rooms and suites arranged around a freeform swimming pool close to one of the island’s best beaches.

The Balinese-style resort is in the south of the island close to the soft cream sands of Jimbaran Bay and next to the new Samasta Village shopping complex which features shops, cafes, restaurants and Balinese music and dance performances. Ngurah Rai International Airport is around 20 minutes’ drive away.

The large resort has extensive family and culinary facilities and has designed a program of activities to appeal to all types of guest. The 2,900 square-metre freeform swimming pool features an artificial beach area and lap pool. The dedicated Meera Kid's Club has its own fun activity pool specifically for families with daily supervised entertainment and children’s menus.

The resort plans to open a luxury spa in April 2017 with Balinese and Indonesian holistic therapies. Guests also have unlimited access to a 24-hour gym.

The new Mövenpick’s dining options include its signature Anarasa restaurant with interactive live cooking stations and an international a la carte menu. The resort will also open a Peruvian-Japanese inspired seafood restaurant – Above Eleven Bali – in March 2017 with rooftop views of crescent-shaped Jimbaran Bay.

Elsewhere, guests can stop by the relaxing Katha Lobby Lounge & Library or grab an aromatic coffee, Swiss-style ice cream or bar of chocolate at the Mövenpick Café. There’s also a pool-side snack bar – JeJaLa Pool Deck – providing food and refreshments to scores of sun loungers and private cabanas.

“We are delighted to be opening our first property in Indonesia, a country central to our expansion plans in Southeast Asia. And where better to start than Bali.”

said Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Chief Development Officer and Senior Vice President Asia, Andrew Langdon.

“We are looking forward to showcasing our unique blend of upscale Swiss-inspired hospitality to guests from around the world.”

The new hotel is a milestone for the Swiss hospitality group as it grows its portfolio in the region. The company plans to have more than 30 hotels operating under its brand in Southeast Asia by 2020.

To celebrate its launch, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali has a special opening offer until 25 June 2017 for bookings made on its website – £116 per night for two persons in a deluxe room including daily breakfast and a £13 food and beverage credit. For more information, visit:
