The Warehouse Hotel, a boutique heritage property, is set to open in Singapore in January of 2017. The hotel is located in a renovated 1895 warehouse, known in Asia as a “godown” which sits along a well-known trade route between Asia and the Straits of Malacca.

The hotel was designed by award-winning agency Asylum. It features spacious and welcoming rooms, decorated in subtle, muted tones. Many rooms have double-high ceilings, peaked roofs, and original industrial details left from the building’s use as a warehouse. Many of the hotel’s amenities, such as in-room minibars, uniforms, artwork, guidebooks, and coffee and tea are locally sourced to ensure a more authentic Singaporean experience.

One of the hotel’s stand-out features is its rooftop infinity pool, which allows guests the chance not only to relax but to enjoy expansive riverbank views.

The hotel’s lobby and reception area also serve as its signature restaurant and bar. As with guest rooms, the Warehouse Hotel’s lobby and reception area incorporate décor and furnishings that harken back to Singapore’s past, such as traditional rattan and natural leather. The space is friendly and inviting and makes a welcoming gathering space for visitors and locals alike.

The hotel’s restaurant, Po, is the work of chef-partner Willin Low. Low is famous in the culinary world as the founder of Wild Rocket, one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants. His dishes include many traditional elements of Singaporean cuisine with inventive, modern twists. Po’s cocktail menu also reflects the building’s history, offering spice-infused concoctions referencing the building’s history in the spice trade, and house-crafted spirits which call to mind the building’s forbidden distilleries.

The Warehouse Hotel is located on Robertson Quay and was once the largest wharf at the source of the Singapore River. It occupies roughly 50 hectares along the Singapore River and includes buildings built in both Chinese and European styles. Since the 1990s, the area has been used for hotel, commercial, and residential purposes. In recent years, the quay has become a popular destination because of its eclectic atmosphere and wide array of art galleries as well as the Asian Civilizations Museum.
