Air Europa updates The Holiday Place on 2017 plans and beyond
Last Friday we were overjoyed to welcome one of our biggest air partners to The Holiday Place as a representative from Air Europa arrived at our London office, bringing a good dose of Spanish warmth with his visit. Updating us on the Spanish carrier’s new developments and future ventures, Max Campos, Air Europa’s Senior Sales Manager, UK treated our team to an insightful presentation. Here are the full details.
Having been celebrating their 30 years in business this 2016, Air Europa certainly has plenty to smile about. Max Campos came all the way down to our London headquarters to tell us the many reasons 2016 has been a great year for Air Europa and all the fantastic plans they have in store for 2017. We want to let you in a few of the updates and learn the advantages of flying the world with one of Europe’s leading, fastest growing airlines.
As Air Europa’s Senior Sales Manager in the UK, Max Campos, was delighted to tell us of the airline’s incredible growth over recent years, from being ranked for having one of Europe’s most modern fleet back in 2007 (while becoming a SkyTeam Alliance member on the same year) to launching its twice-daily service from London to Madrid in 2009 and launching new routes across Latin America every year since 2013.
This year Air Europa acquired its first ever, state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, with four spanking new Dreamliners flying its long-haul international routes from the year’s second quarter onwards. But the airline isn’t stopping there. Short of it, in fact, as Campos told us how Air Europa will be seriously expanding its Dreamliner fleet, not by one or two additional planes, but by a whopping total of 18 brand new aircraft, all of them Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Speaking in more detail about the benefits this brand new aircraft brings to the airline, Max Campos gave an overview of its advantages. With a 60 per cent lower noise impact and 20 per cent lower fuel consumption, this is one of the eco-friendliest models on the planet, and also the quietest, adding to passengers’ overall comfort. On top of this, the lower pressurised cabin means that the body is able to absorb 8 per cent more oxygen, resulting in a considerable reduction of fliers’ symptoms such as airsickness, headaches and tiredness. With the advanced filtering system purifying 100 per cent of the air onboard, eliminating bacteria, odours and relieving dryness, passengers experience a more pleasant journey. The 30 per cent larger windows don’t hurt either, allowing passengers to better adjust brightness and illumination.
Moving onto connecting options for UK passengers, Mr Campos addressed Air Europa’s excellent in Madrid, explaining how it saves passengers’ time connecting them to their onward journeys. Air Europa offers excellent connecting times through Terminal 1, connecting the Spanish capital to the whole of Latin America and West Africa in as little time as possible. The average long-haul connecting time for passengers arriving to Madrid from London is only two hours, which means a smoother, more pleasant overall flight experience. To top it all, bags are checked all the way through to passengers’ final destination with Air Europa and Premium passengers enjoy complimentary use of a Business Lounge in Madrid. Connecting London to Madrid, the company operates a Boeing 737-800, with 168 Economy Class seats and 12 Business Class seats, all of which have a 30-31” seat pitch.
Passengers flying Air Europa’s benefit from a series of inflight entertainment options with a choice of 8 recently released films, 8 new films, 30 classic films, 4 international films, 20 theme programmes, 5 TV series (full seasons available), magazines, games and more. If you want to get online during your flight you can select from 3 Wi-Fi connection plans, ranging from lower to higher data usage to suit your needs as a browser and internet user. To make sure your devices don’t run out of steam while online, all aircraft seats feature an iPort, USB and power supply for your personal use.
Popular destinations from London include Cuba’s capital city of Havana (with a daily service from London Gatwick), the newly introduced Bogota, Colombia route (which took off last 28th June) with a daily frequency and the freshly launched Guayaquil route in Ecuador, with a four-weekly service from London Gatwick in full operation since 16th December.
Coming up in 2017 there will be two more routes to look forward two, with Air Europa launching their San Pedro Sura in Honduras route on 27th April via a weekly flight from London Gatwick and their new seasonal Boston – USA, taking off from 14th June to 8th September with a thrice weekly service from London Gatwick. Now that’s plenty to whet your appetite for wanderlust, right? Thanks Air Europa for bringing us closer to your plans in the new year!
