Movenpick Hotels and Resorts to open three new hotels in Thailand

Movenpick Hotels and Resorts has signed a management agreement with property developer Nusasiri to open three new hotels in Thailand. Movenpick Residences Ekkamai, Bangkok and Movenpick Resort Khao Yai are due to open later this year, and Movenpick Resort Mai Khao Phuket will open in the fourth quarter of 2017. The new additions will bring the hotel group’s total number of properties in Thailand to seven.

Movenpick Hotels & Resorts will launch three new hotels in Thailand, following the signing of a management agreement with property developer Nusasiri. The hotel group’s new additions will increase its total number of properties to seven in the country. Movenpick Residences Ekkamai, Bangkok and Movenpick Resort Khao Yai, are due to open to guests by the end of this year, and Movenpick Resort Mai Khao Phuket will open in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Andrew Langdon, the Senior Vice President of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts for Asia, commented:

“We are thrilled today to sign an agreement with such a distinguished developer and to increase our properties under Movenpick management in Thailand,”

Mr Langdon added:

“This is our second property in Bangkok and the debut of our exclusive serviced apartment brand, Mövenpick Residences. It’s our third resort in Phuket, while in Khao Yai we are delighted to be opening up the first truly internationally managed resort in this well-known domestic destination."

Movenpick Residences Ekkamai will have 160 residences, including serviced one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Facilities will include an all-day dining venue, a stylish lobby lounge, a rooftop lounge and bar, a swimming pool and a modern fitness centre.

Movenpick Resort Khao Yai will offer 114 guest rooms, suites, and two, three and four-bedroom villas. The accommodation will be set within a European-inspired clubhouse, and facilities will a restaurant, lobby bar, cafe, swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, and meeting and events rooms.

The beachfront Movenpick Resort Mai Khao Phuket will have 220 rooms, and will cater for families, couples and groups of friends. Guests will be able to enjoy gourmet cuisine at an all-day restaurant, drinks and food at the beach club, a kids club, three swimming pools, a fitness centre and spa with a wide range of replenishing therapies and services.
