Hotel Riu Republica redefining all-inclusive holidays in the Dominican Republic
The newly launched adults only Hotel Riu Republica is catering to an underserved segment of holidaymakers eager to book holidays in Dominican Republic- a destination known for its family friendly resorts. Despite being all-inclusive, the resort features all the amenities and services travellers have come to associate with Riu's luxury Palace brand properties.
The Dominican Republic has long been known as the top all inclusive holiday destinations in the Caribbean and certainly one of the best in the world. However, many have also come to associate that accolade with images of resorts filled with children a factor that has limited the appeal of the all inclusive option for those couples looking for an adult only getaway.
The adults-only Hotel Riu Republica is now redefining the all inclusive holiday experience in the Dominican Republic. Riu Republica recently opened its doors on the 4th June 2016. The 1007 room resort sits on Punta Cana’s Arena Gorda beach and boasts a child free, relaxing environment with a host of facilities and activities ideal for couples or anyone simply looking to escape the everyday hustle.
Among some of its top rated facilities are its contemporary lounge, sports bar, on site retail shop, three large pools one of which features a swim up bar and snack stand. Other facilities include a relaxing spa and wellness centre and a beauty salon. Despite such a wide range of on site amenities, thanks to its beach front location guests of the Hotel Riu Republica can enjoy a wide range of water sports and other activities including snorkelling, wind surfing.
Of course no all-inclusive resort is complete without a range of dining options and the Riu Republica does not disappoint on this front. In addition to five bars (one of which is open 24 hours a day), guests can chose from a buffet style international cuisine restaurant and three a la carte restaurants including one steak house and two restaurants serving Asian, Italian cuisine respectively.
In 2015, the Dominican Republic was the most popular holiday destination in the Caribbean. The island recently released the figures for arrivals in the first half of 2016 and reported a 8.2 per cent increase in the number of stay over visitors when compared to the same period in 2015. The United States is the main source market for the Dominican Republic accounting for 61.4 per cent of travellers visiting the island. Officials are predicting that six million travellers will visit the Dominican Republic in 2016.
