St Kitts and British Airways launch St Kitts-branded London taxis on London's roads
In a joint partnership with British Airways, St Kitts has branded ten London taxis with images of the St Kitts' Scenic Railway, and put them on the streets of London. The campaign will run for 12 months and will promote the Caribbean nation to Londoners going about their daily lives. Promotional initiatives will take place throughout the year including social media activities and competitions.
British Airways and St Kitts have joined forces to create an advertising campaign that will be seen by hundreds of thousands of Londoners.
Ten of the city's iconic black cabs have taken to the streets of London displaying images of the St Kitts Scenic Railway and branded interiors to promote the Caribbean destination to commuters and visitors.
The campaign is in conjunction with London Taxi Advertising and will run for 12 months, and will feature initiatives such as social media promotions and competitions.
"We are very pleased to see the branded St. Kitts Taxi back on the streets of London and, more importantly, to note that there is a fully supportive campaign that effectively engages with the consumer for a whole year."
Explained the Hon. Lindsay Grant, the Minister of Tourism, International Trade, Industry and Commerce for St Kitts and Nevis. Mr Grant also commented:
"The London black cab remains a distinctive symbol of London and as such is an ideal platform to raise the profile of St. Kitts to consumers, whether they be Londoners or visitors to the capital. We look forward to celebrating the first prize-winners and of course all new consumers who are encouraged to visit the destination through this campaign."
There will be a "Spot the Taxi" competition where people who take pictures of the St Kitts taxis can tweet using #stkittstaxi, to be in with a chance of winning St Kitts goodies.
The interior tip-up seats will also feature adverts and passengers can use their smartphones to enter the "Win a London Pass" competition. The Campaign also highlights special events on the island such as the St. Kitts Music Festival, Restaurant Week and Cricket Fixtures.

British Airways currently operates two flights a week to St. Kitts and Nevis on Saturdays and Wednesdays from London Gatwick Airport. The airline was the first scheduled carrier to provide regular flights to the Caribbean island.
St Kitts is one half of the twin-island Caribbean nation of St Kitts and Nevis, and the two picturesque islands are separated by a two-mile channel. Both destinations are home to an array of breathtaking natural landscapes, such as white sand beaches fringed with crystal clear turquoise ocean waters, verdant green forests, volcanic peaks, and winding rivers.
