The Daily Mail hails Oman as "the Middle East's best kept secret"

UK journalist Sarfraz Manzoor recently enjoyed a seven-night holiday in Oman and shared his experiences in a Daily Mail article. By the end of his holiday, Manzoor went from a skeptic knowing little of the country to declaring it as an ideal family holidays destination and ultimately the best kept secret in the Middle East.

The Daily Mail hails Oman as "the Middle East's best kept secret"

Writing for the Daily Mail on Sunday, UK journalist Sarfraz Manzoor shared his experience of taking a family holiday in Oman.

From spending days lazing on the picturesque beach near the Al Waha resort building sandcastles to taking a tour of Muscat which included a visit to the awe inspiring Grand Mosque, Manzoor quickly realized that Oman had a lot to offer and was even more pleasantly surprised to discover that Oman is an ideal family holidays destination.

In addition to his stay at the Al Waha hotel, the Manzoor family also enjoyed stays at two other top hotels in Oman, namely the Alila hotel and The View hotel both of which offer the perfect vantage point for guests to take in the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

Manzoor and his family also had the unique opportunity to spend a night under the stars in Oman's Wahiba desert at the 1000 Nights Camp where they were able to spot Jupiter, Mars and Venus.

All in all, it was apparent that these experiences made for an unforgettable seven-night holiday in what Manzoor went on to describe as the Middle East's best kept secret. Summing up his trip Manzoor wrote:

"... after an incredible week, I know you don't need to leave this planet for a holiday that is out of this world."

Oman has indeed been actively seeking to boost its reputation as a top Middle Eastern holiday destination. Recently it was revealed that Oman's Ministry of Tourism would participate in three European tourism exhibitions in an effort to increase the number of European travellers booking holidays in Oman.

Among the three tourism exhibitions that representatives of the Sultanate will attend is the 36th annual World Travel Market (WTM) due to be held in London for four days from the 2nd November. Up to 20 Omani tourism institutions are scheduled to participate in the WTM promoting their programs and offerings as well as present and upcoming initiates.

Delegates from as many as 170 countries from around the world are expected to be in attendance at the WTM making this the ideal event to forge new partnerships.
