The Holiday Place invited for breakfast at Panama Embassy
Two representatives from The Holiday Place recently attended an insightful breakfast meeting with members of Panama's Embassy in London, Copa Airlines and CAST (Central American Corporation of Tourism Services). Overseen by the Panamanian ambassador himself, Daniel Fabrega, the purpose of this low-key event attended exclusively by six other select guests from the UK travel industry was to present and promote Panama as a unique tourism destination. The Holiday Place was honoured to be one of the invited tour operators and took the opportunity to strengthen ties with existing and non-existing partners to continue bringing customers the best value deals and experiences to this up-and-coming Central American destination.
The Holiday Place was honoured to be invited to a beakfast reception held at the Panama Embassy in London last week on Thursday 10th September, an event organised by the office of the Panamanian Ambassador in the UK, Daniel Fabrega, and overseen by a cultural assistant at the Panama Embassy. Also attended by six other guests representing other companies in the UK travel industry, The Holiday Place brought along Senior Travel Advisor, Alexandra Orsavova and Web Designer Jana Crowne.
Presiding the the event and introducing the speakers was Ana Elizabeth Gonzalez, Cultural Attache at the Panama Embassy who gave way to two presentations; one led by Copas Airlines UK Sales Manager, Sabrina Diamante and another by CAST representative, Silvia Vizzoni.
An assortment of breakfast treats were laid out including some patriotic cupcakes with the Panamanian flag and teas and coffees were served all around before presentations took off.
Starting things off, Silvia Vizzoni introduced the destination management company she represented - CAST, which stands for Corporacion Americana de Servicios Turisticos and which translates into English as Central American Corporation of Tourist Services. She briefly introduced her company and their services before detailing some of the tailor-made tours to Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua they offered and the partners they worked with. As part of the presentation she also gave a good background on Panama's top holiday hotspots and favourite tourist highlights.
For her part, Sabrina Gonzalez Diamante gave a brief background on Copa Airlines as one of Latin America's leading carriers and went in more in depth when detailing the flight connections it offered in Panama with a host of domestic flights including two new one-hour-long daily flights connecting Panama City with David, the blessed rural region and capital of the lush Chiriqui province, Panama's second most developed province. She was also proud to reveal that Copa Airlines is a finalist in the UK Travel Agents Choice Awards 2015 with the official winner of this year being revealed at the World Travel Market to be held in London on 2nd November 2015.
So, what does Panama have that the rest of Central America hasn’t?
Panama has that rare combination of first-class modern life and sleek luxury hotels usually associated the developed world as well as unspoilt wild, beautifully preserved landscapes that humankind has hardly touched. Its capital of Panama City and the country's trendy, cosmopolitan hub can compete with the very best of hip and modern Latin American cities with tall and shiny skyscrapers, gourmet restaurants and bars in vogue while its rural areas are home to fascinating nature and culture that move and captivate the most well-seasoned of travellers.
The Holiday Place and Panama
Panama is one of The Holiday Place's newest destinations and as such the company is actively looking to expand its portfolio of Panama holidays. This is why events like this are key in helping cement and solidify our partnerships with Panama's tourism agencies as well as gain ongoing training on the destination's cultural and natural highlights. We can then pass on this acquired knowledge to our Product team responsible for creating exceptional and unforgettable holiday packages to Panama.
