Aruba's Radisson hotel transformed into a new Hilton
The former Radisson hotel on the Caribbean island of Aruba has been transformed into a new Hilton resort. The recently-opened Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort and Casino is a 15-acre beachfront oasis with 355 guest rooms, and includes a dive centre, watersports facilities, a fully-equipped spa, casino and variety of dining options.
International hotel group Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of a new resort on the Caribbean island of Aruba. The new 355-room Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort and Casino has replaced the Radisson Aruba hotel, which originally occupied the site, repurposing the buildings and rebranding the resort to include a dive centre, spa, casino and range of restaurants.
The 15-acre resort overlooks the white sands of Palm Beach and features landscaped gardens with large lagoon pools, beachside eateries and a kids' club. It is located less than 10 miles from Aruba's capital city of Oranjestad. The resort was designed by renowned architect Morris Lapidus, who is responsible for some of Miami's most famous hotels, as well as the Condado Plaza Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Metropolitan in New York City.
Hilton Worldwide's global head of full service brands, Rob Palleschi, explained:
"Aruba is the quintessential Caribbean island with its strong European influence, long stretches of white beach and eclectic culinary scene.
"As one of the most revisited destinations in the region, this opening marks an important milestone as we continue to expand our global presence and deliver on our commitment to providing diverse experiences for our guests."
Rooms and suites at the new resort all have spacious balconies with views of the ocean, pools or gardens. Featuring decor inspired by the tropics, each room includes luxury bedding, a flat-screen television, wireless internet access and coffee-making facilities. Guests staying in executive rooms and suites can also expect private concierge service and access to the executive lounge.
Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort and Casino offers a range of dining options serving everything from casual fare to fresh seafood. Gilligan's Beach Bar and Grill is a casual eatery open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while Laguna Restaurant offers Caribbean food and health-inspired cuisine. The resort's signature restaurant Sunset Grille serves international specialties including steak and seafood dishes and Mira Solo is Aruba's first martini and wine bar. The resort also offers La Playa Torchlight Dinner – an exclusive beachfront dining experience with a personal server and four-course dinner.
"This project is a magnificent addition to our Caribbean portfolio with its remarkable connection to the island's past and exceptional team members who bring traditional Aruban hospitality to life. We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this hospitable community, and extend Hilton's warm welcome to the island's residents and visitors."
Concluded Hilton Worldwide's Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America senior vice president Tom Potter.
