Sheraton Krabi now officially re launched as the Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort

Thailand based, Dusit International Hotel Group has now officially launched the Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort, the group's first property in the popular beach resort province of Krabi.

The launch follows the announcement in March 2015 that Dusit International would takeover from Sheraton Hotels and Resorts in assuming responsibility for the management and marketing of the resort formerly known as the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort. The facilities at the 240 guestrooms resort include; multiple restaurants, one bar, two beachfront swimming pools, a gym, a club lounge and children's club.

MBK Group, owner of the property, has high hopes for the success of the resort under the management of Dusit International. MBK Group's CEO Suvait Theeravachirakul stated:

"With a world-class management team in place, we are confident in the five-star service Dusit will provide, as it has been recognised globally for over 65 years. The resort's location and facilities, coupled with Dusit's signature gracious Thai hospitality, will surely impress tourists from around the world here in the Emerald of the Andaman Sea."

Currently China is the largest source market for Thailand's tourism industry. Recent figures show that for the period January to May 2015, the number of foreign arrivals to Thailand increased by 24.7 percent with 12 million travellers taking holidays in Thailand, of these international arrivals 3.3 million came from China.

According to Dusit International's managing director and CEO, Chanin Donavanik the Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort is well positioned to attract travellers from China and other key markets including the Middle East.

This is not the first joint venture between MBK and Dusit International with the duo also joint owners of the Patumwan Princess hotel in Bangkok as well as the Dusit Thani hotel in the Maldives. Dusit International is said to be pursuing an ambitious international growth strategy with the potential for new properties to be launched in China, the Middle East (including Saudi Arabia) and South Africa. The Group is also reportedly weighing its options in European markets and Japan where, despite the tough competition, the returns on investment are expected to be the greatest.
