Ultra luxe Setai hotel joins new Antigua development

The first Setai hotel in the Caribbean is slated to open in Antigua's exclusive luxury enclave of Pearns Point, which is currently under construction. The new five-star boutique hotel will form the focal point of the new $250 million development on a pristine peninsula in the south-west of the island, which will also include luxury residential villas.

Ultra luxe Setai hotel joins new Antigua development

Boutique hotel brand Setai will open its first Caribbean resort within the new multi-million dollar development at Antigua’s Pearns Point. The new project, which broke ground recently, will transform an unspoilt peninsula in the south-west of the island into a luxury beach community with more than 70 residential villas, as well as the five-star hotel.

Indented with seven white sandy coves, the 137-acre Pearns Point peninsula is surrounded by lush, untouched hillsides and the brilliant blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. Situated at the entrance to the headland, beside a wide beach, the ultra luxe hotel will form the focal point of the exclusive enclave, with sports, dining and shopping facilities.

The new Setai hotel will feature around 80 suites, with 70 branded resort apartments as part of the property. The hotel will also function as a Clubhouse for the homeowners at Pearns Point offering signature restaurants and bars, as well as boutique shopping. Amenities for the hotel will include a full service spa, several tennis courts, swimming pools, a gym, boat docks and a function space.

With its green slopes and virtually 360-degree ocean panoramas, all accommodation at Pearns Point is ensured fantastic sea views with the islands of Montserrat, St. Kitt’s and Nevis forming silhouettes on the distant skyline. It is being touted as the finest property in Antigua and the Caribbean and was recently named one of the top real estate developments in the world by Elite Traveler Magazine.

For nature lovers, the large, natural mangrove that adjoins the peninsula supports a unique and intriguing eco-system of its own and enhances the natural beauty of the area with its still, dark waters and diverse plant life.

At an event to mark breaking ground on the project, Antigua’s Minister of Tourism, Asot Michael, said,

" Pearns Point is a unique and very special place in Antigua and Barbuda. With its seven pristine beaches spread over 137 lush acres of land, this oasis of the Caribbean is destined to become the home to 70 exclusive residential villas, 70 resort condominiums and a new five-star Setai hotel."

Pearns Point is around 30 minutes’ drive from Antigua’s VC Bird International Airport, as well as 30 minutes by road from the island capital of St. John’s. It is just 10 minutes’ drive from the Jolly Harbour marina complex that offers shops, restaurants, golf and tennis.
