The recently refurbished Sanctuary Cap Cana by AlSol will transition to an adults only luxury all inclusive resort as of 15th December 2016. Families can still book a stay at one of two alternative sister properties in Punta Cana- the AlSol Luxury Village or the AlSol del Mar in Cap Cana.

Sanctuary Cap Cana by AlSol transitions to adult-only resort

AlSol Hotels and Resorts has announced that the all inclusive Sanctuary Cap Cana by AlSol resort will become an adults only luxury all inclusive resort by the end of 2015.

The transition is scheduled to officially take place on the 15th December 2015 and the move is expected to attract holidaymakers planning a romantic getaway to the Dominican Republic.

Benny Guevara, the director and owner of AlSol Hotels and Resorts had the following to say of the move:

"As a part of AlSol's continued growth and portfolio expansion, Sanctuary Cap Cana by AlSol's transition into an adults-only resort will offer guests seeking a fresh and lavish vacation experience an array of exclusive accommodations".

Mr. Guevara was also keen to reassure holidaymakers with children below 18 that they would still be able to enjoy an AlSol's luxury holiday in Punta Cana stating:

"In addition to our two properties, AlSol Luxury Village and AlSol del Mar, offering travelers the convenience of family travel, we want to provide a romantic paradise for Caribbean travelers seeking a sanctuary escape from their everyday lifestyles to celebrate their love for one another".

The decision comes after the resort undertook an extensive renovation in 2014 with interior upgrades throughout including the five restaurants and four bars.

A recent article in Caribbean Journal listed the Sanctuary Cap Cana by AlSol among the top ten all inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. Other all inclusive resorts to make the list included the Zoetry Agua Punta Cana, Excellence Punta Cana and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The Dominican Republic has a long standing reputation as one of the top Caribbean holiday destinations leading its regional peers in the number of arrivals in 2014 with over five million stay over arrivals, a figure representing a 10 per cent year on year increase. Hotel firms operating in the Dominican Republic like AlSol have benefitted from a high level of demand particularly for all inclusive holiday packages.

Other popular holiday Caribbean destinations last year include Cuba and Jamaica while the Cayman Islands demonstrated considerable growth with an 11 per cent year-on-year increase.
