KPIG offers Cambodian VIP gaming resort investment opportunity

Russian firm Koh Puos Investment Group (KPIG) is seeking investors to get plans going for a luxury gaming resort development in Cambodia.

KPIG hopes to build the development in Morakot Island located 950 metres off the coast of Cambodia's Sihanoukville. If the project should proceed as intended, three luxury hotels in Cambodia will be built with one six star hotel and two five star hotels currently planned.

Other amenities will include a marina, a four star casino and a VIP casino, a host of restaurants and bars, a luxury spa and wellness center, as well as meeting and conference facilities.

KPIG is hoping to capitalize on a keen interest from wealthy gamers in Southeast Asia given the ban on gaming in several countries including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and Japan. Not only will Morokat Island be ideal for VIP gamers, but, given that Asian VIP gamers are known to travel with their families, the mountains and beautiful white beaches along with the addition of luxury spa will ensure that there is something for everyone.

More than $126m has already been spent on the project including the construction of a 985m bridge connecting Koh Puos to Sihanoukville. KPIG has also signed operator agreements with renowned luxury hotel chains Ritz Carlton and Renaissance so holidaymakers can be sure that, when completed, this resort development will be the ideal place for pampering holidays in Cambodia.

Cambodia has long been considered one of South East Asia's top holiday destination, international arrivals has increased by approximately 16 per cent each year over the past decade. Currently, the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism has set a target of six million visitors by 2016 and in order to achieve this goal there has been an increase in the number of direct flights to Cambodia from China, its key source market.

Additionally, there has been an increase in Government investment aimed at improving Cambodia's infrastructure. Thanks to its popularity among holidaymakers, Sihanoukville has been identified as the key development focus for the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism and projects like the one proposed by KPIG will ensure that the Sihanoukville can live up to its full potential.
