The Huffington Post has named a twin-island nation in the Caribbean one of the Top 15 Emerging Travel Hotspots for 2015.

St Kitts and Nevis is predicted as being a hotspot for travellers next year, and the Business Insider has also ranked the country as No.8 on a list of the 25 Best Caribbean Islands.

Senator Ricky Skerritt, the Minister of Tourism and International Transport, explained:

“Recognition by another two respected publications again confirms that our country is on the right development path.”

"At the end of what has been another exciting year for St. Kitts tourism, I say thank you to all of our stakeholders and tourism partners for their ongoing roles in helping to make St. Kitts such a special Caribbean destination."

St Kitts and Nevis was the only destination in the Caribbean to be named on The Huffington Post list and it joins country such as Taiwan, Madagascar and Bhutan. Its new marina, YU Lounge private airport terminal and new luxury beachfront resorts were noted and it was called “both the original and the newcomer in the Caribbean”.

St. Kitts also received the “Innovative Destination of the Year” Award in Caribbean Journal’s Caribbean Travel Awards 2014, which recognise the best in travel and tourism across the region.

St Kitts and Nevis is a twin-island nation situated in the West Indies and it is a popular destination for families, couples, newlyweds and solo travellers.

The islands are separated by a two-mile channel and are home to breathtaking natural landscapes including volcanic peaks, lush green rainforests, unspoiled white sand beaches and the ocean’s azure, crystal clear, warm waters. An abundance of wildlife including birds, turtles and tropical monkeys can be discovered, creating a perfect retreat for relaxing and luxury holidays.

Tourist attractions include Brimstone Hill National Park, Frigate Bay, Frigate Bay Golf Course, Cottle Church, Pinney’s Beach, and The Alexander Hamilton House.
