Sandals International Resorts has announced that it has acquired The Veranda Resorts & Residences in the Caribbean island of Turks and Caicos.
Following talks with the government of Turks and Caicos and the Governor, Damian Roderic Todd, the hotel group finalised a deal to purchase the resort that is located on the same site as its award-winning Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa property.
“From the earliest days, Beaches Resorts has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with the TCI islands and our success is inexorably linked,” stated Gordon Stewart, the Chairman of Sandals Resorts.
“Recognition of this partnership and a determined commitment by this government to conduct business in the most professional and highest international standards, is a great example for the people of TCI and throughout the Caribbean. We admire their tireless efforts for the betterment of the Turks product and look forward to continuing our work together and to realising an even brighter future for the people of this wonderful country.”
The all-inclusive beachfront resort will have a wide range of accommodation options including three and four-bedroom villas and one and two-bedroom suites and studios. It will be an expansion of Sandals Resorts’ Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa and together, they will boast the longest stretch of Grace Bay Beach.
"It has been an exciting month for us and we are so pleased to continue the expansion of the Beaches Resorts brand in Turks & Caicos,”
“Under the stewardship of general manager, Don Deaganis, the quality of this resort is tremendous and just keeps getting better.
The luxury resort is located on the island of Providenciales in Turks and Caicos and like all of Sandals Resort’s other Caribbean properties, it will offer an all inclusive experience.
The twin island nation of Turks is Caicos is situated in the West Indies, north of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, and southeast of The Bahamas. The country boasts 40 islands and cays, of which only eight are inhabited.
The island of Providenciales spans 38 miles and is home to stunning natural landscapes including the famous Grace Bay beach, the naturally-formed limestone opening called The Hole, and Chalk Sound, a long coral reef, which is thriving with marine species, and a large lake with turquoise water and a collection of small cays.
Sandals Resorts is an international hotel group that operates Caribbean hotels and resorts in Turks and Caicos, Jamaica, St Lucia, the Bahamas, Antigua, and Grenada, under its Beaches Resorts, Grand Pineapple Beach Resorts and Sandals Resorts brands.
