Hilton Worldwide has opened its first ever Hilton-branded property in Panama; a hotel that is part of a 70-storey mixed use complex of shops, offices and entertainment venues.

Hilton Panama is located in Panama City, overlooking the Panama Bay between Casco Viejo and the financial district. Located just 20 minutes from Tocumen International Airport, the hotel is positioned on the corner of Balbao Avenida and Aquilino de la Gua, within walking distance of the city's attractions, restaurants and bars.

The 347-room luxury hotel has an array of upscale facilities including an outdoor swimming pool, the luxury Eforea spa, 30,000 square-feet of meeting and events space, and six gourmet restaurants that serve Panamanian and international cuisine, including Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and the Society Cafe.

Guest rooms and suites at the hotel offer views of Panama City, the Pacific Ocean, or Panama Bay, plus amenities including WiFi, signature bedding, large flat-screen HDTVs, mini-bars, and some with private terraces. Rob Palleschi, the Global Head of Full Service Brands at Hilton Worldwide, commented:

"We are thrilled to welcome Hilton Panama as the first Hilton Hotels and Resorts property in the country to the brand's growing global portfolio. This newest Hilton in Latin America represents our continued interest in the region, and introduces business and leisure travellers to Hilton's signature brand amenities and hospitality."

Despite it being the first ever Hilton Hotels and Resorts property in Panama City, it is the fourth brand for Hilton Worldwide in the city, with a Waldorf Astoria property among them. Danny Hughes, the Senior Vice President for Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America at Hilton Worldwide, also explained:

"With a fifth hotel coming soon, Hilton Worldwide will have five of its brands in Panama City, welcoming today's traveller with unparalleled choice in upscale quality and service standards."

Panama City is a vibrant hub in the Central American country and its historic "Casco Viejo" neighbourhood was founded in1671, following the dismissal of the original Spanish settlement by the British pirate, Henry Morgan. While the modern side of Panama City boasts a skyline similar to Dubai, the historic neighbour today is a blend of Old Havana and the French Quarter in New Orleans, plus a splash of Art Deco.
