Coco Reef - Tobago wins World Travel Award for 10th consecutive year

One of Tobago's most luxurious resorts has scooped the award for the "Caribbean's Leading Hotel" at the 2013 World Travel Awards.

The Coco Reef Resort and Spa beat off competition from 17 other nominees including, Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies; Sandy Lane, Barbados; and Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort, Antigua.

"It's tremendously rewarding to reach this milestone of ten straight wins for Coco Reef – Tobago. Although I continue to invest millions of dollars in the Resort every year, our guests clearly indicate that our success is due to the dedication, professionalism and genuine friendliness of the wonderful management and staff at the Coco Reef Resort in Tobago, who consistently exceed our guests' expectations with regards to service and providing an unforgettable experience."

Commented John Jefferis, owner of the Caribbean resort.

The Tobago hotel was developed 17 years ago and celebrity guests who have enjoyed luxury holidays at the property include Sylvester Stallone, Rod Stewart and Diana Ross.

The resort is located on the south west coast of the island of Tobago in Crown Point. Positioned on a private beach, surrounded by ten acres of lush tropical gardens, the hotel features unique architecture and a dramatic lobby with 30-foot bamboo palms, fountains and statues.

Coco Reef's accommodation includes 135 guest rooms, suites and villas with private balconies that overlook the sparkling Caribbean Sea. The resort famously offers the upscale exquisite $2,000 per night Sunset Villa with its marble bathrooms and 24-karat gold fittings.

Hotel's facilities include a beauty salon, a spa, swimming pools, conference and meeting rooms, and two gourmet restaurants and two bars.

The World Travel Awards is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and the prestigious organisation is hailed as the Oscars of the travel industry by The Wall Street Journal.

"Coco Reef Resort and Spa has done it again taking the title of Caribbean's Leading Hotel for the tenth successive year, in a run of success dating back to 2004. Our voters know something special when they see it.

"It gives me particular pleasure to present this award to my close friend John Jefferis, owner of the resort. Not only has he worked closely with World Travel Awards over the past decade, he is one of the true pioneers in Caribbean tourism. We wish him every success for the future."

Stated Graham Cooke, the World Travel Awards President and Founder.
