Ritz Carlton Reserve comes to Panama
Ritz Carlton Hotels has announced that it will be developing a Ritz Carlton Reserve property on the beautiful Pearl Island in Panama. The announcement was welcomed by Dolphin Capital Investors and Grupo Eleta- co owners of the private island. Spokespeople from Ritz Carlton assured that the hotel would do its best to preserve the natural beauty of the island and guaranteed that 70 per cent of the 3500 acre island would remain untouched.
On Tuesday 8th October 2013 it was announced that Ritz Carlton Hotels would be launching one of its Ritz Carlton Reserve properties on the pristine Pearl Island in Panama.
The resort property, set to open in 2016, will feature 80 rooms, a private beach club, three swimming pools, three restaurants, a marina, a fishing village, an equestrian center and a luxury spa which will include outdoor treatment pavilions as well as tree top villas.
The 3,500 acre Pearl Island is situated in the Gulf of Panama, 45 minutes south of Panama City, and is the third largest island in the Las Perlas Archipelago. The island is accessible via boat, and also features a private airstrip making it accessible by helicopter or plane.
At the time of the announcement, Herve Humler, president and COO of the Rtiz Carlton stated the following:

Pearl Island is a destination that our discerning customers will find extremely appealing, with the coastal serenity and unspoiled natural attractions offering our guests the beauty and privacy they seek in an exclusive getaway experience".
Pearl Island, home to hundreds of species of both flora and fauna, is one of the most bio diverse destinations in the world. The Ritz Carlton has committed to preserving this unique destination stating that 70 per cent of the island would remain "permanently undisturbed".
The island is co-owned by Dolphin Capital Investors and Grupo Eleta who are partnering with the Ritz Carlton to bring the project to life. Pierre Charalambides, founder of Dolphin Capital Investors stated:

This Ritz Carlton Reserve property, will be the latest to launch in the Caribbean region, its predecessors will include the Ritz Carlton Reserve Dorado Beach in Puerto Rico and another at Molasses Reef in the Turks and Caicos both set to launch in the coming years.
