Grenada's Spice Island Beach Resort temporarily closes it doors for renovations

The Spice Island Beach Resort will be embarking on a period of renovations eight years after its major rebuild. The Caribbean property has been ranked as the number one property in the region by TripAdvisor members. The hotel in Grenada closed its doors to the public on 2nd September, 2013 and it will reopen on 21st September, 2013 after a multi-million-dollar refurbishment programme.

The Spice Island Beach Resort, a luxury hotel Grenada, has closed its doors to the public for nearly three weeks as it undergoes a multi-million-dollar refurbishment programme.

The Spice Island Beach Resort will reopen on 21st September, 2013 following extensive renovations, eight years after its major rebuild.

Many areas of the Grenada hotel will be completely redesigned including the lobby and Courtyard which will feature a new façade with decorative wall trimming and chic lighting. The porte-cochère will be upgraded and will featuring contemporary pavers and the dedicated concierge area will be added to the lobby area to make it easier for guests to check-in.

The hotel's Janissa's Spa will be redesigned and holidaymakers will be able to enjoy a separate hair salon, a brand new manicure and pedicure facility, and a new couples' massage room and sauna area with double outdoor showers. The outer deck of the spa will be turned into a relaxation area.

The popular Sea and Surf Restaurant will be expanded with the addition of two extended decks, so there will be more space for more seating and a larger dance floor for evening entertainment.

Select items of indoor and outdoor furniture at the luxury Caribbean Resort will be replaced, including in guestrooms, and outdoor patio fans will be added to help guest cool off in the sun.

The Spice Island Beach Resort has been voted as the number one property in the Caribbean by members of the popular travel site, TripAdvisor.

Located just steps away from the famous Grand Anse Beach, the luxury resort offers plenty of activities for tourists to enjoy including workout in the modern Cybex equipped fitness centre, games in the children's activity centre, as well as complimentary tennis, cycling, kayaking, snorkelling, and Hobie-cats rides.
