Brighton hosted a unique dining experience over the bank holiday weekend during an event organised by British Airways and St Kitts and Nevis tourist board.

The "dine in the sky" event took place on Bank Holiday Monday and was part of the six-day #BABeachside extravaganza. More than 200 "passengers" took to the sky to enjoy a special dining experience in a bid to promote St Kitts holidays and the airline's flights to the Caribbean destination.

Over the six days, a different British Airways destination was highlighted and on St Kitts Day, nearly 6,000 visitors attended the event to enjoy complimentary drinks, destination videos, music and entertainment at the British Airways and St. Kitts ‘pop up' Beach Lounge.

More than 200 people were lucky enough to take part in the half-hour flights where they sampled delicious Caribbean menu and beautiful views while being suspended 100 feet in the air.

"We were delighted to be part of the British Airways Dine in the Sky experience in Brighton; and to host the lucky diners in the sky as well as all those who visited the beach lounge. British Airways has once again shown amazing ingenuity in the creation of their destination promotions and our continued partnership in such promotions is key to generating awareness of the destination and its success in the UK market."

Explained the Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Senator Ricky Skerritt.

British Airways operates two weekly flights for tourists taking holidays to St. Kitts on Saturdays and Tuesdays from London Gatwick Airport. The flights to St Kitts are operated on a three class, 280 seat Boeing 777, and customers will have a choice of 40 Club World seats, 24 World Traveller Plus and 216 World Traveller seats.

"St. Kitts continues to be a popular destination for our customers who want to visit new and exciting destinations and, particularly in St. Kitts' case, uncrowded and unspoilt. We are therefore pleased to have St. Kitts ‘on board' once again on such an exciting promotion. Such initiatives grab consumers' attention and are an excellent way to gain immediate visibility and awareness."

Commented Colm Lacy, the Head of Commercial at British Airways London Gatwick.

The island nation of St Kitts and Nevis is situated in the Caribbean and the two picturesque islands are separated by a two-mile channel. Both destinations are home to an abundance of wildlife including birds, turtles and tropical monkeys, creating a perfect retreat for relaxing and luxurious holidays to St Kitts and Nevis.

Holidaymakers can enjoy breathtaking natural landscapes including volcanic peaks, lush green rainforests, unspoiled white sand beaches and the ocean's turquoise, crystal clear, warm waters.
