Qatar Airways launches two additional flights to Amman, Jordan

Two new flight services have been launched by Qatar Airways to Amman, Jordan from the airline's hub in Doha. The award-winning national carrier of the State of Qatar now operates nine weekly flights to Jordan giving travellers easier access to popular tourist attractions such as the ancient city of Petra.

Qatar Airways has announced the launch of two new services between Doha and Amman in Jordan.

Tourists can now travel with Qatar Airways to Amman, Jordan on Mondays and Fridays and the national carrier of the State of Qatar operates a total of nine weekly flights to Jordan.

The new flights will give travellers flexibility and access to more than 100 cities around the world from Amman, as well as giving them the option of enjoying a twin centre holiday combining Oman and Jordan, plus many more destinations.

"As part of Qatar Airways' ever-expanding route map, a key pillar is to also evaluate existing routes and increase capacity where there is passenger demand. Qatar Airways can seamlessly connect travellers from Amman via our Doha hub to diverse cities like London, Dubai, Kuwait, Khartoum, Manila, Dhaka, Muscat and many others.

"At the same time, with our new additional services, we offer travellers from around the world increased connectivity to access popular heritage tourist spots in Jordan such as the ancient city of Petra."

Explained Akbar Al Baker, the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways.

The flights between Doha and Amman will be operated by an Airbus A320, and passengers can choose from First Class and Economy Class. Some of the A320s feature seatback TV screens in both cabins so passengers can enjoy the interactive onboard entertainment system which offers more than 800 audio and video on demand options.

Qatar Airways was has provided flights to Amman since May, 1994 and the award-winning airline has a modern fleet of aircraft operating services to cities across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and The Americas. This year, the carrier has launched flights to new destinations including Salalah in Oman, Najaf and Basra in Iraq, Gassim in Saudi Arabia, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and Chicago in the United States.

Jordan is rich in history, natural beauty, and ancient sites such as the city of Petra and the Roman ruins of the Temple of Herakles. Tourists who travel with Qatar Airways to Amman, Jordan can use the city as a base to go off and explore the country where they can enjoy scuba diving in Gulf of Aqaba's, relaxing in the mineral-rich Dead Sea, or exploring the canyons, caves and water holes of the magnificent Wadi Rum.
