Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada to close for massive refurbishment project

The Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada will be closing its doors for three weeks this autumn as it undergoes extensive refurbishments. The project will cost US$2 million and refurbishments include expansion and complete redesign of the spa, upgrades to the beachside terrace and dance floor, upgraded guest rooms, and renovated restaurants, lobby and bars.

Grenada's Spice Island Beach Resort will be closing for three weeks in September as US$2 million worth of renovations and upgrades are carried out throughout the resort.

The work will include the expansion of the spa to make room for a separate hair salon and nail salon, as well as complete redesign of the area; upgrades to the beachside terrace and dance floor; relocation of the business centre; and a new dedicated concierge area which will be added to the reception and lobby space.

Guest rooms at the boutique resort will be upgraded with new furnishing and fittings and lighting themes, while chaise lounges in the garden of Sea Grape Suites will be replaced.

The Courtyard, reception, restaurants, residence lounge, and bar will feature chic lighting and decor throughout, and Oliver's restaurant, Sea and Surf Terrace, the residents' lounge and the lobby will be redesigned. Also furniture throughout public areas of the Spice Island Beach Resort will be replaced, including furniture in the bar and on the pool deck.

Positioned just steps away from the famous Grand Anse Beach, the Grenada hotel's facilities include a modern Cybex equipped fitness centre, a children's activity centre, gourmet restaurants, and Janissa's Spa where guests can indulge in a wide range of rejuvenating treatments.

In Grenada, guests can enjoy complimentary activities including, tennis, cycling, kayaking, snorkelling, and Hobie-cats rides. This Caribbean island is famously known as the "Island of Spice" and it is one of the world's largest exporters of nutmeg, mace, cinnamon and cloves.

Located in the south-eastern Caribbean Sea, northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, the island nation is surrounded by turquoise crystal clear waters, making it a hotspot for scuba diving and snorkelling activities.

Visitors can enjoy the country's breathtaking natural landscapes that are made up of white sand beaches, soaring mountains, lush green forests, winding rivers and cascading waterfalls.
